better that than tryhard shitty casters who try to pretend they're doing deep analysis or some shit when the depth of their analysis is equivalent to saying staying alive is good and dying is bad lol Can't do in-depth analysis when the highest you've ever personally been is Gold. Until we get ex-Pros casting the best they can do is just provide entertainment and commentate on what is happening. Well I do sell myself as an analytic caster and have no pro experience whatsoever... I'm just very thorough in my research and know a lot of data about the game.

Also monte way better analyst than any other commentator, and he doesn't even play that much.

I don't get some of the hate for Jatt. He's the best english caster in the world, imo. He's coherent, good with energy, explains strategy in a simple to understand way, and doesnt sound douchey and patronizing when doing analysis.

Phreak got second in a lol tourny in beta.

Jatt and Monte are probably top 2 casters in imo. Deman, Phreak and Rivingston are bottom 3 imo. And I hate "Tons of damage" reference.

Dota1 might have had 2X million players, but no one really cared. If Blizzard had tried to do something about it (*cough* company involvement *cough*) maybe it could have grown to where Dota2 is now.
I doubt it though. I feel that twitch and the other streaming sites are the main reason for the growth of ESPORTS. An easy, no brainer way to watch people play casually and in tournaments is essential to keep people intereseted. BW was awesome, but trying to watch on Corinthos/aers/X's stream was kind of painful. Everything else is a minor factor. The fighting game community has exploded with minimal input due to exposure.

Monte said in his grilled interview it has been "at least a month" since he has played because he thinks solo que has that little bearing on the pro game, and watching as many games as he can, he feels does more for him.
the difference between Monte and Caster X(whom you think sucks) isn't skill at LoL it's passion for casting.
+ Show Spoiler +all I can think of for writing passion is the tasteless lost his passion jokes but it fits I think.

I like Monte the most, I don't like the others much but that's all we have so I don't care much. I do however hate Phreak, I think his casting is annoying for some reason.

Putting Deman (or Phreak for that matter) on the same bag than Riv should be bannable in GD. No way a guy that cant put two words together and is only funny when he mimics a murloc sound is as good as someone who actually has an understanding of the english language and does an engaging play by play with puns in the middle

Jatt is world's best caster. Kobe is up there too. I love monte and OGN though I do think he tends to over examine things (not every team composition is brilliant when its just 5 really strong champs in the current meta)
But, really, there are no bad casters in the LCS or OGN in my opinion. There is always room for improvement but every caster seems pretty solid at their role and I never see glaring mistakes in any professional cast (tons of dead air, not allowing co-caster time to speak, ignoring important fights, etc.)

Monte's voice is so calming. Similar to Tasteless. He's like this grandpa who always has scotch candy.
