Alright, agreed names are dumb, but it really has no bearing on anything.

It's just "less is more" is usually a good guideline because people in design and writing tend to overclutter things when it's not needed. Conciseness is good but that quote shouldn't be taken out of context as I explained in my above post. We know the quote is true, it is said so in Civilization4, technology Engeneering. I guess the idea is that a story without an ending isn't perfect, so you are supposed to follow this line of reasoning: story not perfect -> nothing left to take away -> have to add something. The idea is that taking away something precedes adding something.

I'm really confused what context you think the quote is being taken out of. Here's the full context of the original quote:
Sometime in the 1940's Antoine de Saint-Exupéry wrote: And now, having spoken of the men born of the pilot's craft, I shall say something about the tool with which they work-the air-plane. Have you looked at a modern airplane? Have you followed from year to year the evolution of its lines? Have you ever thought, not only about the airplane but about whatever man builds, that all of man's industrial efforts, all his computations and calculations, all the nights spent over working draughts and blueprints, invariably culminate in the production of a thing whose sole and guiding principle is the ultimate principle of simplicity?
It is as if there were a natural law which ordained that to achieve this end, to refine the curve of a piece of furniture, or a ship's keel, or the fuselage of an airplane, until gradually it partakes of the elementary purity of the curve of 'a human breast or shoulder, there must be the experimentation of several generations of craftsmen. In anything at all, perfection is finally attained not when there is no longer anything to add, but when there is no longer anything to take away, when a body has been stripped down to its nakedness.
The quote is quite clearly describing a principle of design where all that is extraneous is removed and all that which is necessary is kept, nothing more or less. This is the principle which I'm applying when I say that Seeker's Armguard is an extraneous addition to LoL's design.
I feel like you're misunderstanding the quote, and my point, the same way people commonly misunderstand Occam's Razor.

While the quality of our posting and of our posters is way above the norm, we simply don't have enough people or volume to support a partitioned subforum. When and if we reach that point it's going to be bittersweet, because in many ways it will represent the end of the "golden age" for the subforum, even as it heralds the ascension of LoL itself.

I think some of people trying to volunteer/help may get lost in GD, so here's what I'll say about it. If you think that you have something valuable you can and want to give to the TL LoL subforum, PM Neo saying that you're willing and able to help. I can't guarantee that you'll be taken on or that you'll have the skills the staff needs atm, but we DO like having more people. It IS work, but I just did what I described and now I'm doing... stuff... for this subforum. And it's fun and it's helpful. It's also possible that Neo or MB will contradict me on this, in which case SRY.
No contradiction here. TL LoL can always use more help. Just be flexible and clearly state what you're interested in helping with.
I want to comment that we accomplish what we do with less than half of TL Dota2's staff. Imagine if we had more people! :O :O

I'm sure that some people which put so much effort into this sub-forum would like to have a wider recognition and I totally think they deserve it, but selfish-me wants this place to remain small. Well TL mods are always going to keep this place's discussion high-quality, and so it's safe to assume that even with more people this place will remain relatively the same in terms of quality discussion. SC2 and DotA 2 subforums suggest otherwise. Not all shitposting is banworthy. If it was, this forum would be down another dozen or so recognizable names. Forum quality tends to decrease with size because bad/shit-posters act as echo chambers. In a small forum there aren't enough of them to really cause many problems, but as a forum grows the echo effect increases. Eventually you reach critical mass and the good posts get overwhelmed in a broadcast storm of stupid. It takes extremely draconian measures and an incredibly proactive mod staff (SEE: Elitist Jerks) to maintain the quality of discussion in a larger forum. We're unlikely to be allowed to take things that far here, so when/if the forum expands dramatically you can expect a lot less "Seuss and TheYango discuss the cost effectiveness of Aegis versus Locket in a myriad of teamfight scenarios" and more "XxXTEEMOTAUNTXxX asks what the timer for Baron is for the 43,135,834th time".
Hear, hear. A little bit of me feels hurt that so many of you think our subforum(s) would automatically go down the shitter if we expanded or get an influx of new users. I daresay TL LoL is run on a tighter leash than any other area of TeamLiquid.
Not all shitposting is ban worthy, true. But I ensure that shitposting does not last for long. There's a difference.
