I doubt it. wodx has a huge fanbase behind him, and his skills as a top laner isn't too bad. If I were the manager for Dignitas I would *strongly* consider him.

EDIT: but I don't think it's true. Dig has been playing a lot with therealkiwikid and Rhux.

My understanding is that he did OK at the regionals...? Or at least during the laning phase?

edit: I am just going to assume that is false. If it were true someone would have yelled it out on reddit already. I am not sure what you have seen from scarra's stream.

He probably is the best NA top laner, the competition isn't that fierce. He get's a lot of hype because he's popular, but he's genuinely pretty good, no Shy or Maknoon, but good. His soloq play isn't really indicative of his pro-play, he's talked several times about how he plays super aggro and makes risky plays that he would avoid in a tournament setting.

I think one thing that's stood out to me is how few western top laners are practiced or good at 1v2ing compared to their Asian counterparts. To Hotshot's credit, he's probably actually the best 1v2 laner out of any western top laners.

Part of this I feel comes from the solo queue-centric "practice" schedule, which basically never results in 1v2s because solo queue is 100% cookie-cutter lanes.

I still haven't seen WoDx ever play a 1v2 lane, and that's a potentially huge liability if he doesn't get good at them fast. Any proper team that does their homework is more than capable of exploiting a glaring weakness in a player's skillset like that.

Most of his hype comes from solo queue though or from eight months ago when TSM.Evo wasn't completely awful. And even then they were only ever good in online tournaments (and only good for like three weeks).

People also might forget that he had Salce, who at the time, was probably the most consistent AP mid in NA. As well as Aphromoo. The only reason TSM.Evo got to regionals was because Riot didn't delete their circuit points from when they were EG (like they promised to since Salce was the only original member of that team).

I'm sure he'll be good for NA scene. Because NA top laners are pretty bad. But I would not be surprised to see him lose top lane or just go even against people like Dyrus, Voyboy, and even Hotshot.

Maybe I'm wrong though and he'll be amazing. With the amount of hype he carries around Dignitas should be #1 or #2 team NA npnp.

Laner? Sure, I'm impressed by his laning. But he's a scumbag with no map awareness, and very poor team fighting and decision making.

i disagree on all accounts except that his laning is good (because it is); he's a genuinely nice and considerate human being, his teamfighting is outstanding, his map awareness is better than 99% of high elo players (i guess that's not hard but worth mentioning) and his decision making is at least better than average

when he tries hard he's an unstoppable beast
