rofl, except Riot is probably infinitely more trustworthy than SirScoots... Either way it doesn't fucking matter since it's not happening, so basically he's being a drama queen for nothing lol.

From what I gathered, Riot changed the policy 2 days ago and he comes out about it now. And people flamed me on reddit for pointing out that somebody that has a dota2 team, and no league team, is making a fuss about a league issue...

It felt more like SirScoots, and non-LoL owning teams just shit talking Riot because that's what every non-LoL involved esports persons seems to like to do. Seriously, I don't think I've heard a single fucking positive thing about Riot/LoL from someone not involved with it. It's always along the lines "RIOT is an immature company, blah blah blah", or "Riot is handling the esports scene wrong, blah blah blah", or "LoL isn't real esports" or "LoL is dota copy, blah blah blah". Fucking tired of the fucking shitstorm parade that people think they can just stomp/walk all over LoL, and get away with it just because other people share their uneducated opinions.

EG has no LoL team because of the fact the rule existed in the first place, Sirscoots is probly annoyed that he can't sign a team in time for season 3 with the change being made so late. valid complaint imo, I'd love to have the major us esports teams get involved in lol, like it or not it's good for our game.

They had the rule, but there were no clear implications/consequences from it. If there was, CLG would've had to insta-disband their Dota 2 team, which they didn't. And EG has had plenty of time to set up a LoL team, before this rule, they clearly didn't want to invest in a team for a long time, that's their fault. Scoots has no right to bitch about the rule, because all of a sudden he's pique'd an interest in LoL, as if.

If you want League to be an Esport people who do the journalism are going to talk about it, some of it may not be positive and if it's obviously disgustingly against League then you have a right to call it out. This wasn't. While I'll call out League bashing all day what they did was informative and discussion not bashing. Not talking about it would of been poor coverage. Now the subtle jabs about the complexity of League vs Dota by Slasher in the Dyrus interview is closer to "bashing" and that was just minor jokes.

Literally years ago. It's not like competitive LoL has only been around for the last month. Especially since, from what I've gathered, this rule only surfaced two weeks or so ago. EG doesn't have a LoL team because at first they didn't want one and then when they realized they wanted one it was at a time when practically every good team was already signed. Organizations like EG and coL still want LoL teams especially after the rule was revoked. They're likely just waiting for another Rock Solid.

It's something that was going to happen and was changed(something Scoots praised Riot for changing it's mind) Considering you have multiple managers Complexity, EG, and I believe Dig all confirming the rule was actually going to happen that means it was actually going to be a S3 rule. Thankfully this was changed as it would hurt Riot and the gaming scene in general. I have no qualms talking about it, but SirScoots acted as if that was the only reason that EG didn't have a LoL team, ergo "hurting esports" which is a giant load of elephant doo doo.

I thought the supposed agreement only applied to DotA/HoN teams. Scoots was saying that they would have to drop their DotA squad to have a LoL team, but I don't think it said anything about their SC2 team.

What about M5/CLG/EHOME etc. who all have DotA and LoL teams...?

I think the discussion was about the rule coming into place for S3 though, and Yango simply brought up Dig as a team only interested in LoL at the moment(although they did have a DotA2 team, no longer) who were corroborating Scoots/Rileno's statements. Essentially the word is that the gaming organizations put enough pressure on Riot to revoke the rule, but they still are reporting that it was a rule ready to go into effect(which we should assume would have effected the above named teams, but that's speculation so disregard if you want).

It's safe to say that many of the teams (especially IG with their recent TI2 win) hold significant investment in both esports so why are we only seeing blind outrage from Dig/EG/coL?
