Same rules apply, per usual. Please use the appropriate threads (QQ, Brag, Champion, etc) whenever appropriate. Keep the resident Banling content.

Thanks. Happy Gaming.

I'm streaming right now >.<

1. Both servers are really active (idk about SEA)
2. Yes
3. Not really. LoL doesn't have many hypercarries. But if you're A LOT better than your opponents then you should be able to carry regardless. There is no instawin hero though.
4. #1 player is up to discussion but I'm a huge Chauster fanboy. He's been playing support for CLG lately though so idk. The best team is probably Moscow5.
5. Streams clgaming.net or solomid.net

If you're looking to learn from a stream you really should be watching people that play the champs you do

If you're midding just watch Bigfatjiji, Nyjacky, Salce, Scarra, Froggen, Alex Ich etc.

They each play mostly different champs with different playstyles, but they're all AP mid players.

Okay, so after reading the thread "LoL takes #1 E-sport spot in Korea" I got a bit curious about the game. I played a few games 1 year ago maybe but there was some things I didn't agree with in the game and that was that.

Anyway, now I want to give it a go again and give it a honest try for over a months period or something, but I got some simple questions.

Which server is the most active one and where do all the serious players play? (Everyone doesn't play on their region server do they?)

You play first "unranked" games where you gain levels for ingame stats and wins(?) to lvl 30 and after you have done that you can start playing ranked games to build on your ELO rank?

Is there a hero or heroes I can buy and be able to pretty much go mid and win the game by my own by good ricing and ganking untill I get good enough rank to play with competent people? I mean like you can do with Nevermore/Soulstealer in DotA/HoN.

Who is the #1 player and team in the scene right now and where can I find reps or stream to study?

Kisses

You are unranked until you hit level 30. At which point you can start to play ranked qs. I believe you need 300 games to hit 30 without a boost, if you constantly buy exp boosts you need 150 games. It might seem like a lot, but trust me, even with that you still wont be ready for ranked when you hit 30.

If you want solo mid players, I would recommend going to own3d.tv and looking for Salce. Other good choices to watch are Bigfatjiji, Reginald, Froggen,or Alex Ich.

People play on their region's server. I think EU is the most skilled but the difference probably isn't that large. Haven't watched much asian games.

I know sion works, and with boots of mobility he can come to gank lanes a bit faster. Think chars that can push well like TF and Cass also work.
Elo rises fast though if you do well. LoL is plagued by too many smurfs.

There is no #1 player.
The best team is probably m5.
Own3d, twitch, and solomid all have streams.

If you want to learn solo mid, watch scarre's stream, it is by far the best stream in term of commentary quality and level of play. For solo mid, go for morg, ryze(both very cheap) and alternatively ahri and cass. These are really safe champions that are hard to fail, and if played well can easily carry.

I'll actually second this, scarra #1 solo mid if you want to learn. I don't really watch many lol streams though.

Nonsense. A competent player with experience in dota/hon is ready for ranked around level 15 (even though they don't have runes, haha) or so, once you've seen every hero a few times and read up on them a bit. I'm only like 23 and but play normals against almost solely 30s and don't notice much difference (we queue as 4-5 though and mostly hit either 30s + smurfs or 5 30s in either draft or blind, obviously not the case in soloq)

Since it's so easy to last hit and most people are not very competent at it, it's entirely plausible to pull a massive ck lead in a solo lane and just steamroll people with your gold advantage, and pretty much every hero is good at that. It's literally a matter of finding a hero you like/feel comfortable with.

Same here! There's something odd but very likable about Dyrus, I really like watching his stream.

And yeah, he really seems to care about how he treats his fans, how he acts on his stream, etc.

  • I've been totally out of the loop with a lot of stuff cause I'm so busy atm. Sorry guys. Don't know much about the new champ than you guys do, such as her power level on Riot Internal Test Server. I'll see what I can tease out of some Reds.
  • Yes, Lulu can be played in support role.
  • Her skins are supah kawaii-uguuu~ from what I hear. So start saving dem RP.
  • I beg Riot every day for free RP. I'm shameless.
  • Jiji #1 in my heart. But Chauster supah underappreciated imoimo. Somewhere in my personal top 5.
  • I need Jiji autograph to complement by Chauster autograph.
  • I can't remember if I've said this before. But have reliable source Riot has srs Russian expansion in mind (servers?).

I like how you say it's nonsense when you yourself haven't played ranked. You realize that lots of people, especially at level 30, who play normals or who play just normals are just dicking around? Most people who are "serious" about the game or who go try hard play almost exclusively ranked.

You know, there's lvl 30s who only amove in lane and don't even know the minimap exists, right? Those players would probably get crushed even at 500 elo. Like sure you're ready for ranked when you hit 30 but you will probably lose numerous games in a row. The game's totally different.

Play on whichever server you get the lowest ping on. NA / EU / Taiwan / Korea are all okay.

Yes. You spend your time from 1-30 looking for heroes you enjoy and dominate with and also farming up IP to buy runes.

Closest I can think of with regards to playstyle is probably Cassiopeia / Karthus. Those 2 carry really hard if played well @ mid.

M5 by far the best team. No specific player for me.

Scarra is by far the best mid laner to watch if you want to learn. He talks through everything he does, everything his opponent does and everything happening on the map, all the time. From champ select to nexusplosion. He usually also answers a heckton questions while in queue.

He'll run through his runes/masteries, what champ to vs what, he comes up to lane, looks at the stats on the other laner and can tell you what runes and masteries the other guy runs and can tell pretty much immediately what level either of them looks to make aggression.

Plus he plays Katarina.

You run into a lot of 30s that groupped up with low level summoners, that's the only reason you meet 30s as lvl 23 if you solo qed up. I'm sure those guys showing their friends how to play the game are serious gameface tryharding in the normal game where they're probably holding their low level friend by hand.

Once you reach the level where your lane opponent is actually CSing as well and starts bullying you around you'll find it's a bit different game than what it was pre 30 with all the smurfs and new players.

For Lulu:
Passive: AA buff but you can also pass it to a teammate
Polymorph is about a 15% slow, cancels channels, and not an ultimate
3 offensive spells, 3 defensive spells
1 ability increases the range of one of her own abilities

Uhh, you are NOT ready for ranked, sure you're ready if you want to hover at 800-1000 ELO go ahead jump right in but you do not have a solid enough understanding of the game to hit ranked straight at thirty and move towards 2k ELO
