Has anyone done the mathcraft for early Abyssal? This is not the first time I've seen a fast Abyssal on some AP players. Edit: And it's not like MYM is running double AP where Kennen could really/urgently need the MR. | ||

Where does the idea that Vlad falls off late game come form...? I think he's one of the best scaling APs. Also Vlad outpushes and outtrades everyone once he has Revolver. Incredible lane bully past 1-4... I think it comes from the fact that he is definitively lacking in cc, and has no actual hard cc, meaning his utility drops the longer the game goes on. On the other hand, his cd's are so low, he ends up with crazy sustained damage output, so the lack of cc should really just be a conscious decision of damage/survivability over utility. | ||

There was a post on Ele's blog with some mathcraft on it. It ended up being relatively situational depending on AP Scaling and CDR but Abyssal + Blasting Wand being just a bit cheaper but still offering close power output. So Abyssal lets you get a full item faster, but it tails off compared to the DCap Passive. | ||

I forget what game it was, but during Kiev there was an Ahri vs Karthus mid match-up where the Ahri rushed abysal and it worked really well. I'm not sure on the math, but it did allow Ahri to basically kill Karthus at will by dashing around in his defile. I guess the reasoning being something like she needs the AP and Abyssal passive to kill Karthus, but also the MR to stand in his defile long enough to not die. | ||
