lol. 2-0 for TSM in under 3 minutes and CLG EU had their red stolen, and reginald has CLG's blue as well. Was looking forward to relaxing a bit and watching the game, but this is probably over.

Game was indeed not close. But the other way around than you thought lol.

Wickd just too strong on top lane. Udyr was a bad pick against his Iralia though.
And really good team play on CLGs part.

Wasn't even Wickd, imo. I actually blame it solely on Reginald. He wasn't effective enough as LB. He roamed but couldn't secure kills, forcing odd one to sit in mid lane frequently. TSM never had wards and had no tabs on CLG because of it.

hah, just remembered reginald's awful attempt at a gank top in the 3v1 but dove right away for no reason, resulting in a lot of wasted summoners and no actual kill.

Wickd was the only one who dominated his lane. He was far ahead in creeps while also securing drakes, mid and bot tower for his team. He was in 11 of 12 team kills, 7 of them his.
Pretty sure he played a major part there.

And then CLG EU showed what coordination and teamwork looked like.

There's nothing wrong with picking champions you like, Mundo and Urgot included. The reason to first learn standard champions is to understand the role first.

Just to second this point. If you pick an unconventional champion, you're telling me you're super good at them and you know 100% you're going to crush your lane with it. Excuses not tolerated. Certain champions are unconventional for a reason, whether it be their lack of laning presence, scaling issues, inability to synergise with their team, or there being superior options. If you knowingly pick something that isn't standard, you better have a very good reason for it. But that's just how I see it.

Is everyone so harsh about this?

Why do I need an excuse for my champion pick? Why do I need to be super good if I pick Urgot, but it's OK if I pick Vayne and am terrible with her?

Note that if you get matched up with me, you're presumably no better with conventional champions than I am with unconventional champions. If you don't tolerate excuses for my character choice, why should I tolerate excuses for your ELO not being higher?

Note that I'm not playing in professional games, or even organized clan matches or whatever. I never try to troll, intentionally hurt the team, or pick unsuitable roles. I won't play champions if they clearly aren't viable at all -- you won't see me building crittlesticks or AD Karma in a ranked game. It just happens to be that most champions I enjoy playing are not the most popular picks (apart from Lee Sin/Nocturne).

But it is a game, and there's a reason we are allowed to choose from so many characters, and there's no imperative to always choose from the same small subset just because they're slightly better/stronger.

If this is the predominant attitude in ranked though, I'll just not play ranked. Since I have no intention of going professional, having a good time is what matters most to me, not my ELO.

In general, people in the LoL community are dicks. Many of them also don't know very much about the game, and only what is popular. The biggest thing you need to learn is really just not to care what people in your games say/do. I care about teammates raging even less than I care about ELO and it is very liberating. At the end of the game I just report all the jerks and go about my business.

Generally the people who will rage at you are the same ones who rage about everything else and should really just be ignored. Reasonable people won't care what you pick.

Not saying he wasn't the MVP for his team, but I'm saying TSM lost the game because of poor play. The drake they secured was also another Reginald fail. He almost got killed and survived with < 100 hp and was forced to B, along with Oddone. That allowed an easy dragon for them. Wickd certainly won his lane, but I don't think he was what made TSM fall apart.

Wickd too strong, and Galio's poke (as well as Spirit Visage fuelled healing from his W) was fairly ridiculous.

I'm fairly certain it's just the Chinese art of those champs. No big deal, a lot of people already used them anyway through mods.

He's tanky as hell with Turtle + defensive items, decent damage with Tiger or Phoenix, can clear waves/jungle stupid fast with Phoenix, and disrupts all the things with Bear. His kit is so absurdly good that if they gave him anything he lacks (ranged attack, gap closer), he's instantly be the best champ in the game.

That said, he needs a team to be with him. He can 1v1 pretty much anything, but if outnumbered he's easily countered by CC. For him to be effective in teamfights, he needs to not be focused and needs to be able to run around stunning and eating damage with Bear/Turtle.

He's not meant to do damage in teamfights. If you can flip Phoenix on for AoE, go for it, but your job is to stun and tank so your AD/AP carry can kill things.

saying CLG EU won is very different from saying TSM lost, you seem to be saying (at least from my perspective) that TSM should have won, but lost it because of poor play, which kinda invalidates what CLG EU does.

CLG played well, so of course they deserve props. But given the lead TSM got, that should basically be game controlling. They didn't capitalize on it in the least and you can only run LB if you're going to land successful ganks while roaming; since you're clearly not going to win the farm. He couldn't; the final score was the result.

It's only seen as in/validation if you looking to fanboy for a team. I'm merely saying what happened. TSM had a sizeable advantage and threw it away with poor play while CLG played solid after their rocky start and capitalized on TSM's mistakes properly.

Galio counters lebonk, irelia counters udyr, was just bad picks IMO. I guess I'm just confused how jangle karthus does anything vs. rammoose and how vayne + janna can hang with MF + Sona at all.

Riot real troll, releases two batches of fixes for Viktor but hasn't fixed augment power so that it actually provides the 3 seconds of movespeed listed in the tooltip rather than just 2.

Also they fixed Wukong Q not proccing lifesteal sometime in the past 6 months but poor Yorick's hasn't procced it since day 1 and still doesn't.

So many bugs...
