I'm wondering if any of you guys who have experience playing a number of champions at solo top would be kind enough to give me some advice. I'm trying to get more experience in top lane, having only played Cho about 10 times there.
I'm looking to try one of: Irelia, Riven or Wukong.

I would like to know if any of the above are clearly better suited for top laning than the rest, and/or which you find to be the most rewarding of these champions.

real men play ryze tear sword of the occult, mejai's, leviathan, triforce, manamune.

You don't need mana if Triforce Procs are hitting for 500 every 2 seconds.

I do not get how people are still trying to justify that Karma is good. I have lost almost every single game with a Karma on my team except with one guy who I saw play her exceptionally well but is still unable to hard carry.

She seems to be a piece of shit on low and high ELO, end of story.

If they're using mantra on their Q for the heal on a regular basis, they're probably dead weight because they're playing the champ wrong. Her shieldburst is quite dangerous.

Triforce is base damage, which is does not include items

Ryze is surprisingly good in SR, despite the fact that I rarely see him played and the average person is terrible with him. He get's to build so defensive while gaining damage with most items (frozen heart grants 500 mana, for instance, and requires 1 blue crystal). RoA is good on Ryze but I never have time to build it early, I'd rather get tear, boots, and glacial shroud/frozen heart first most games.

Karma exists as per her name, if you're a jerk you get a lot of her.

I personally play Riven almost exclusively top lane as my solo Q champ. She is extremely fun to play (dodging skill shots feels so good) and she can lane against almost anybody. A skilled Riven can outlane Irelia, Cho, Garen, Akali, and many of the other better top lane picks. She has crazy damage in the first few levels, is extremely good at trading without taking damage, and can dodge ganks like a boss. She takes some getting used to but I suggest watching Westrice or another high ELO player win with her. Another great thing about her in solo Q is her ability to carry really really hard. She has some amazing scaling and I find that once I have Wriggles+boots(ionians generally)+Brutalizer+Bloodthirster (at a decent time) then she is nigh unkillable and will demolish squishies in team fights. The only problem lanes I have with Riven are Ap Scion and Lee Sin. Singed, Udyr, Warwick, and Wukong require at least a little help from your jungle. Beyond that I have been able to win every other lane matchup.

I know Irelia and Wukong are also amazing at carrying games but I have little experience playing either. Of the three champs though, I think Riven is the most fun to play. You feel so good early game but you will absolutely destroy late game if you win your lane.

ad/mana ryze is the new meta. I've done it and its pretty sick.

but no the manamure grows that mana bonus so fast and it helps your dps a hella lot in mid game.

I have a question regarding supports. After seeing your team comp and enemy team comp, how do you know which support to take? I can play a lot of supports, but I need to look more into complementing my team comp a bit better.

Karma is probably the easiest champion to carry solo q with right now. I'd write a guide for her but I'm not sure I want to start seeing her picked/banned in my games...

Karma is a great champ, aoe nuke with .8 scaling that doubles as a shield, movement speed steroid, %health heal. Pretty solid skill set. Every move can be used offensively and defensively. How is she worse than some one like Shivana?

I just had a guy in my game say:

APyro: hi noobs whos tanking?
** Niern7774 has chosen Shen. **
APyro: we need and ad
APyro: and rage ad
APyro: like trynd

I assume this guy got the impression from a typo on forums/streams that teams need "rage AD" instead of "ranged AD".

Oh man, better than Shyvanna. Must be a great champ!
