Well, thats what Co-op vs AI matches are for. During free week, pick a character you want to play and practice a bunch in Co-Op vs Ai. If you get 20ish kills by the end of the game, its a good strategy and you should pick up that character for keeps. If you don't, try a new character until you find the one that you have a feel for. Thats how I found Galio.
TL;DR: Pick a character, play a shitton of co-op vs ai games and if you still suck, pick a new char.
But no joke, every player should own at least Ryze, Ashe or Master Yi.

I have a few 6k champs, but now I'm enjoying playing those cheap nunu, fiddles, yi, singed, nasus, amumu, ali, sion zil... you get the point.

lol wut. Maybe if you never played the champ before play it once in co-op vs ai just to understand how their abilities work, but after that just practice in normals. Use builds from TL to make it simple. We have plenty of guides to help.

Co-Op v AI is so BP and I can work on our duo lane combos.
Riot needs to implement a deathmatch mode. You pick 10 champions to go through the game, every time you die, you respawn as the next champion, until you run out of champs and then you're out of the game because you bad.

How to win when whole team complains the whole time about cassiopeia being a useless champion despite me doing pretty well, and when team never pushes while we have baron buff and only farms, and how team is afraid to tower dive the freaking very first outer tower despite our tank having 250 armor, and how the teams tank decides to go shop without telling anyone while we're pushing mid and get initiated on and die, and then he goes "WTF WHY WOULD YOU FIGHT 4V5 FUCKING RETARDS" ?

I didn't get caught in the 4v5, I ran away and 3 ppl died and they 5v2d our nexus.
The worst part though was that the middle turret was at like 300 hp and the whole opposing team was camped around it, we had baron buff, we had a fed Nasus and Ryze, and the Jarvan who's the only one who can initiate goes "we cant fight, we lose fight at tower" and then we let our baron buff run out. TWICE we let a baron run out because people didn't initiate under the tower OR even poke. Didn't initiate EVEN when they had some people come slightly forward to clear minions.

I'm cassiopeia without survivability and they have Ashe and Morgana and it's 170 ping.

0 survivability is the best way to play. Just fucking ult the people trying to clear creeps and then flash out of the way of the ashe arrow/morg binding and hope your team follows. There's only so much you can do and sometimes you'll lose anyway, but if no one else on your team is making it happen, nut up and do it or stop bitching about how there's nothing you can do.
EDIT: this is how Utah used to carry us all when we were all baddies. he'd just man up and initiate with casters.
