This might be a function of me being a zeratul player than switching to nova, but I can simply not carry hard enough with nova. Last night is a great example--- I think I went 2 wins over 12 games. With zera I can get merc camps, clear waves, and gank as good or better than nova. The only thing I don't consistently do is get the most hero damage on the team, but that's made up for because I confirm wayyyy more kills.
Right now it feels like zeratul has almost no downsides when it comes to a QM atmosphere dominated by squishy assassins. He can do whatever the team needs him to do objectives-wise, and he can do it incredibly safely thanks to blink. In addition to that, shadow assault gives him the ability to go around and erase people 1v1 pretty much at will--- other than tanks and a few hard-hitting ambushers like butcher, greymane, or xul. [though after 16 if he catches one of these chars with a key ability or two down, he can easily take them out 1v1].

Rank 10ish is so good I lost twice with Thrall (and I played well) but won the next 2 games by firspicking Nova (on rotation heavy maps though).
I loved how when you have 2 squishies and ETC (me), the other team picks greymane rehgar zeratul (so you know they'll be 4 front) my teammates pick Tyrande & Zagara. Yup.
I really need hard carry or hard babysitting heroes to climb my smurf account. I think I'll stick with ETC and BW for the babysitting part, and Nova / Thrall / Falstad for the carry.
Week-ends are trash talk time, I got to play with so many awful persons...

Just got a 1st pick Asmodan who never used his general on lanes (Infernal Shrines). So we were losing all lanes during shrines, which is like impossible on this map when you have Asmodan. Not-so-surprising, the guy was muted, most stupid first picks are dicks (again, it never appears in draft that they are muted, I really wish they fix that).
We lost, if only facecheck Malfurion or dumb-as-fuck Thrall would have waited for me (ETC) instead of constantly asking Asmo about his stacks (no kidding, they asked him several times, during fights, how much stacks he had - HE WAS FUCKING MUTED HOW CAN HE REPLY YOU IDIOT)

Every time Nazeebo or Falstad died, because they were caught alone, ganked in lane because they were too far forward or died because they attacked 1v2, they'd complain "Abathur no shield, noob" and the like.
FFS, as Abathur I have a dozen jobs, the last of which is to shield you whenever you do something stupid. It's not like the shield would actually save you when you are in the middle of the lane fighting 1v3, you'd be dead one hit later, but you'd still be dead. As Nazeebo or Falstad you have just one job: Not doing something stupid.
You didn't have to play mindgames with the enemy Falstad and Abathur that were on the hunt for me.
You didn't have to soak two lanes, because the people on those lanes kept dying instead of soaking.
You just had to play it safe and maybe, just maybe, you could have been useful. But no, you kept doing stupid things and blamed me for not expecting you to do stupid things again and for not saving your sorry arse constantly.
Most frustrating game I've played in a while.

but then he feeds alone in lane afetr you have pinged him back 3 times
and then the rest of the team finds a way to fight 3v5 while you and mura are taking a camp
and then the mura goes to fight instead of hearthing and youre left 1v5 defending the core when xul respawns and goes into lane again

next game I get r1 Tyrael who tops deaths (ok, 5 right behind sonyas 6) and uses Sancti mostly to save himself. His duo q buddy on Sonya with less dmg than enemy solo tank Muradin. Lesson of the day: don't go TF build on Abathur, just locusts and try to win alone.

nice that feel when randomly talented Stage Dive ETC with the least XP soaked on the entire team blames the loss on your Abathur pick. Also loved the absolute retard on Lunara who I constantly had to ping back to stay with team instead of roaming for XP with fucking Abathur on his team. He still decided to feed opponents in lane at lv13 while telling me which fucking lanes to soak.

Also, get an Uther who goes for silly talent picks. He can land decent Divine Shields at least but no benediction or shrink ray and the AA mana talent on 4. Sigh. He also went Holy Fire on 7, but since he actually used it to clear Zagara's creep, that's fine with me.

I keep them unmuted to report them, I think its a good habit to get. If they go unpunished they will just go on like this and everyone else loses. Ignoring the Problem sadly only makes it worse in this case.
But people that can't deal with flamers should mute at the slightest hint that someone will rant the whole game so they don't get tempted to reply.
Thats why I really love the Overwatch voting system. If everyone votes you down you will get punished by extremely long que times. I think thats something that might work if enough pick it up. Only issue with it is that people that dont use the voting system are more likely to end up with downvoted people.

I like that idea. They should work on the report system and explain how it works more, like if you get 3 players to report you in a HL game it's probably because you really pissed everyone and you deserve some punishment.
Back to the rage, fuck Nova's Snipe master build, it's terrible when you get 1 with you.
5 games yesterday, 1 of them I had a muted guy who went AFK a long time and another who kept getting disconnected (we lost of course) and another one with a Butcher chaaaaaaarging all the time, dying then "Player X has reconnected". Like 10 times in the first 10 minutes or so. Then his Internet stopped bugging and we won. But he sucked even when he was here. Rank 10 Butchers can really be terrible. Loved the time where he dived 1v4, all the team was split, I was rushing to him as Uther to heal him, and he says "Heal??". Sure, you suicide, it's the fault of the only player who tried to save you.

I've found that the game becomes much more tolerable if I only play HL until I win once, then immediately stop and play QM to practice new heroes. Just treat HL like gambling (since that's basically what it is) and quit if you're ahead (or if you lost, break even).
