Yeah, the normal temperature for a Finnish sauna is 80-120 C.

Well americans do have hot dog eating competitions (owned by a japanese lol) but sauna competitions seems fun, a lot of mental strenght involved imo

No but I recommend starting with 80C and max 100C to be safe, 120C is a bit too hot

Usually I am in sauna around 15-30 mins, so relaxing.

I prefer hot saunas around 90-110 C. It's a big thing in Finland and Sweden especial in the winter. Every university dormitory in my city has a sauna in it xD. I don't think Ive seen a bath house or gym here that doesn't have at least one sauna. Usually they have two, one that is at a higher temperature. I don't know if they are good for you but they feel great and really make you relax. Kind of like a good warm bath. Theres nothing like going to a sauna in the middle of the winter after a long day of down hill skiing. Then when you are really warm just run out and roll around some in the snow and get back in ;e

*edit* Found a video on youtube that kind of illustrates my last sentence ^^

I think Canadian saunas are half that temperature... at least the ones that I've been to. And people STILL complain its too hot.

edit:
on topic:
From what I recall saunas are very very good for your health. The usual rules apply of course: no overexposure. If you look like a prune when you come out, somethings not right (or you're really wrinkley beforehand)

I was quite surprised to see the guys in the video wear bathing trunks. Where I live, people go to the sauna naked.

Same here usually . Maybe it was because they were filming it. It doesn't feel nice to wear shorts drenched in sweat.

120 celsius? If you want scalding i guess thats pretty good

It does not work that way.

120 is an ok temprature. Personally, I prefer around 105-110.

Fighters use it to lose water weight before a fight to make weight, then they usually have a day after weigh-in's to rehydrate. It would also make sense that it detoxifies your body, to a certain extent. If you have a bunch of shit in you and it can be sweat out, the sauna is one way to do it.

saunas are great, not the electic heated ones though that are common in gyms etc. Should be heated by fire or it sucks

It's like a hot tub it is relaxing but causes your muscles to get tense.

I think you mean 120 Fahrenheit because 120 Celsius is above boiling temperature.
