Savio tells how the wolrd works from his view and if you disagree your a fool, probably a communist and nazi at the same time because it's the same anyway.
This is such a fucking stupid argument. The poles of 'left' and 'right' are simply used for simplicity's sake, neither are accurate because there's so many different issues to account for. Quit wasting time with that and start bitching with me that both candidates are going to keep Gates as Defense Secretary.
Okay, so I walk into my 12:30 poli sci class, and the professor tells me "Class is canceled. John McCain is going to be at the courthouse; go see him." So I went to the Courthouse... well, on the opposite corner from it because that's where some guy who sure looked like he was in the secret service was telling us to go. John McCain came in his bus, got out, and walked around the corner shaking hands. I got within 5 ft of him and one of my classmates shook his hand.
I was a bit disappointed that there was no speech. :|
Ok, the infomercial wasn't bad. It didn't give anything new for anyone that's been following the campaign, but it laid everything out at once and they did a nice job with the narrating/stories. Best part was the last 30 seconds imo.
There used to be music, but now there is pop music. There used to be movies, but now they are pop movies. Same goes for politics there was a time when voters knew what was going on, but now there is pop politics. Anything mass marketing and media touches, can be altered and dumbed down beyond recognition, even games. You could call them pop games or maybe EA games? None of the original things is dead yet, there are good new games, some good new movies and music, even some good politicians but the sad thing is you may have hard time finding them under all the crap. Unless you still enjoy pop life, in which case you would not call any of that crap.
So here is the dilemma, what will young Obama supporters do if it turns out he won't deliver? Will they be tricked by the apologists, and if not then what? Will they stay in the game so to speak and pressure Obama and/or join third party efforts next time, or will they become cynics. Because that is what usually happens to many people who wake up after their first experience with a "hope and change" campaign, they become cynics who don't participate in any way.
This video made laugh, it's related and from earlier this year.

They'll become cynics and then I will laugh at them. Then Republican will start acting conservative again and take back control of the government! hehe.
What if Obama becomes Jimmy Carter?
Would that mean there is a Ronald Reagan just around the corner?

LOL.. at least someone is keeping tabs on reality. When intelligence subordinates itself to policy, it becomes in the least of cases - useless, and the worse cases - harmful. It is a very worrisome sign that Obama is thinking of keeping Gates, we might just not see too much change when all is said and done..

Anything that makes the government larger or more powerful is left and anything that makes it small is right. So communism, socialism, liberalism, nazism--they all have a powerful state (I'm talking reality rather than the "theoretical ideal" which we have never and will never see"). As you go to the right, you have conservatism, then libertarianism and finally anarchy.
So America is farther to the right than Europe because by and large we have LESS government regulation, LESS government expenditures, LOWER taxes etc. Europe has a view of a more active role of government in the economy, health care, education, and everything else (these are generalities here--I'm not citing specific countries).
Now, this is not the definition that political scientists use, but this is how I view it. I think Hitler was as far to the left as Stalin was and as far as Saddam was. Neither extreme is good...but I am glad I am a "right thinker". We don't need more government controlling us.
There are African tribes that have absolutely no form of government, pay no taxes and yet they live as far to the left as you dare imagine in communal societies with no property rights etc.. And you don't have to go to Africa to find examples of nations with low size of government that lean towards the left.
Your definition is of course wrong. I do understand what you place more value on but it fills me with grief to see you misuse the term. If we all start inventing different definitions for every concept or word out there we might as well give up on the use of verbal language.

Actually, we have had 8 years of Republicans behaving like Democrats--fiscally at least. That is the problem.
