Being conserved for 1k years isn't immortality. Besides that, immortality would be pretty boring if you ask me.

Inflation far outpaces interest. Maybe if you put it in a massive self renewing cd or something.

"Largly conserved" is quite not enough with a human body; but the true issue is that a human body is huge and you just can't freeze all the organs at the same speed, so it simply won't work. details.. increase the fine structure constant a bit, let space expand (homogeneously) in the person and you got it neatly frozen.

Freezing yourself would give a whole new meaning to the term blue balls.

If I attained immortality I'd imagine I'd have to kill time reading books or something.

Anyways, if CDRdude is right by the time you're unfrozen the government will have already seized all your assets leaving you broke/homeless.
but you'll be a hobo in the future!
Edit: oh and Walt Disney didn't freeze himself, he was cremated and his ashes spread at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California. + Show Spoiler +

freezing the body puts cracks in your brain. although they have been improving technology to make less cracks in you, it still probably ruins you.

You'd have killed yourself already when you paid to have this done for you.

I heard about this on the radio. The talk show host sounded so creepy, scared the hell out of me. The most morbid radio show I have ever heard.

I think you'd go insane being immortal just by yourself...and it'd get pretty tricky staying sane after a few 100 million years when our galaxy collides with another and the chance of the earth shattering to pieces and you'll prob end up floating through space...being immortal and all you wouldn't die...you'd just float...for another billion or so years...and then what? the end of the universe?...=(
