And yea Fedor doesnt look impressive when he isnt fighting. But when you see him fight you understand why he is a MMA genius and a robot. http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=1NIDp7ul6Q0
I dont think many human would have survived to this and won the fights.
I know this is off-topic kinda, but from the related links in your video I found this Fedor highlight..

As for the man vs chimp debate, how different are they in terms of getting knocked out? I mean, we do have sort of a decent reach advantage and a decent power in hands/legs. I'm not talking average chimp vs average human here as I'm assuming that would be a total destruction of the human xD, but say Crocop vs a normal chimp.
i think i heard a chimp the same weigth as a human has 2-3 times the strenght. so if he has 3 times as much strenght of a normal human maybeeee they would probably run/jump on you i guess so not much use for reach maybe 1 hit some chimps in africa raids villages to take their food /kill ,like vikings lol
Fedor looks like quite a beast. If he's as smart/clever as Boblion said I bet he's a beast MMA fighter.
On the other hand, if he was street fighting, he might break his hand on the first punch. Training with boxing gloves allows you to hit harder with a force that normally breaks your hand.
To the OP, a average man would beat an average dog. Just be watchful of the teeth.

The average male chimp is 5-7 times stronger than a normal man. Our reach advantage only comes from using our legs; if you grab a chimp with your arms, he can grab you back. Any human that tried to grapple a chimp would lose, as they would bite off your fingers, and could rip your arm out of your socket. I honestly don't think any man could beat an adult male chimp.
check this out
In tests at the Bronx Zoo in 1924, a dynamometer--a scale that measures the mechanical force of a pull on a spring--was erected in the monkey house. A 165-pound male chimpanzee named "Boma" registered a pull of 847 pounds, using only his right hand (although he did have his feet braced against the wall, being somewhat hip, in his simian way, to the principles of leverage). A 165-pound man, by comparison, could manage a one-handed pull of about 210 pounds. Even more frightening, a female chimp, weighing a mere 135 pounds and going by the name of Suzette, checked in with a one-handed pull of 1,260 pounds. (She was in a fit of passion at the time; one shudders to think what her boyfriend must have looked like next morning.)

MMA gloves are much, much thinner tho. Not as thin as no gloves at all but still

How about.. Choi Hong Man
(Note: the guy at the bottom of the picture is 1.80m)
Yeah, Fedor beat him, but I think Choi would be pretty hard to beat for any chimp simply because well, he's something like 3 times their height and 2-3 times their weight. Would probably only need to get one or two good hits to cause serious damage.

Some cool data there, I was thinking that a chimp would pretty own it up too.
I really think Mike Tyson could beat a chimp. I'm convinced he has the ferocity, killer instinct, raw power and skill to pound a chimp.
Some of his stats according to Dr. Matthew Pain, professor of sports biomechanics.
Tyson’s Punch Equivalent of Getting Hit by a 16lb Sledgehammer Equivalent to impact of 50mph car crash 85% chance of causing brain damage Four times more powerful than the average man
That and he regularly could knock out heavyweights, whose PROFESSION it was to take it on the chin, in seconds.
Has anyone else seen "I shouldn't be alive?" There was an episode that involved a chimp sanctuary in a war torn nation that sheltered deliquent, violent and abused chimps. Some foreigners wanted to visit the sanctuary but unfortunately for them the chimps for whatever reason broke free. Well, the alpha male straight up attacked their car, they were in the middle of nowhere, it broke through the glass windows and mauled one of the guys hands. The car crashed, one guy ran for the hills but unfortunately for him there were a group of angry chimps waiting for him and he got mauled to death. Back to the car, one guy also got out as he saw the alpha male charging towards the car. He decided he'd go out fighting so he picked up a stick and stabbed it at the chimp's chin as it lunged towards him, he knocked it out for a few seconds and he smacked it a few times with the stick. He backed off and as the chimp regained consciousness it limped away.
Tyson may not be stronger than a chimp pound for pound but if an average guy is cooridanted enough to knock a chimp out with a piece of stick. Mike Tyson in "eat your children" mode, the guy with sledge hammers for hands, REALLY FAST hands at that, could knock a chimp out.

It doesnt show the gorilla real strenght.
Have you ever even touched or seen a banana tree in real life? =_=
There is a small banana tree at my parent's house... Too bad they wont agree to let me break it.
There's this movie that is like a documentary that shows real shots of people dying. Not sure whats the name in english should be something like "faces of death". Anyway it has this clip that was recorded by a security camera when a thief tries to rob something, the german shepard that was around sees it, attacks him and kills him live on camera. He tried to fight back, trying to kick here and there after he was on the ground but he died really quickly.

Case closed.
Obviously this clip of a person we know nothing about (health status, awareness level, weight, age, etc) should close the case despite of all the people who said that they did fight off dogs and they doubt they can be killed by one.
Nobody said it was impossible for a german shepherd to kill a human being. The situation was: a room, knowing it's a life/death situation, both fighters knowing what's coming. I'm sure that an unexpected attack could cause biting of the face/neck and thus death. But if you're expecting the dog to attack, and you know there's no way out, you will react differently. But of course, as I said, people's experiences with fighting dogs are obviously far less important than a clip on the internet.
I said that I've seen german shepherds killed by bare-handed humans. Why wasn't the case closed then?
You people are clueless lol kick the dog? this is not a chihuahua if a big dog launches at you you wont land the kick properly and you will fall on your back and the dog on top of you, that is pretty much GG.
To beat a dog you have to "offer" your left arm to bite (he will bite you always, you wont be able to control his head on a choke or anything, be realistic), and while he is destroying your arm you hit him as hard as you can with your fist on his skull to knock him down.
However the average human would simply panic and get in defensive mode and he will probably be killed by a big dog unless he gest a lucky position while he is being attacked where he can hit the dogs head strong.
A trained human would kill nearly every dog because the dog simply cannot kill a human without attacking the neck or cutting a main artery, so if the fighter protects those zones he will destroy the dog.
^^same argument presented all throughout the pages, yet still deaf ears. The opposing argument has 1-kick KO's, superpower adrenaline, and of course, human tactics. Can't argue against that....

standard retards.
Personally i think i have a chance killing a german sheppard but, probably 65/35 in my favour but i dont think i have good odds against a bigger dog like a mastiff or a dog with a bite as powerful as a rottweiler.
ONE dog has been killed with a machete and another injured during an armed home attack which also saw an elderly couple punched.
Police say the three men, one armed with a machete, are on the run after they knocked on the door of the couple's Airds home in Sydney's southwest, about 9.45pm (AEST) yesterday.
They forced their way in, demanded cash and punched the 60-year-old man and the 56-year-old woman in the face and to the body.
During the attack, the victims' two Maltese terriers tried to protect their owners.
The man armed with the machete slashed one of the dogs a number of times while the other dog was kicked repeatedly by one of the other men.
The offenders rummaged through the house before running from the premises into an adjoining reserve.
After the alarm was raised, the couple were treated by ambulance officers at the scene and the dogs were treated by a veterinarian.
The dog that was slashed with the machete had to be euthanised while the other dog was treated for internal injuries.
The three men are described as being of Pacific Islander appearance and about 185cm tall with solid builds.
One of them was wearing a black balaclava and the other two were wearing grey hooded jackets.
