This vid also give an impression on how the dog fights: It will run at you like crazy and not try to dodge any of your strikes. Front kicks would work perfectly I guess. Cannot comment on the pain people are able to take when they are bitten and how good they can react when it happens. Might differ from person to person.

There are in the neighborhood of 20 people killed by dogs per year in the USA, almost always small children killed by large dogs. For an adult to be killed by a dog could be fairly classed as a freak accident. Dogs are not good at finishing the deal. Yes, a dog will hurt you. It may knock you down with its initial charge. It will almost certainly not kill you. A dog is not a tiger or a wolf. They don't have a killer instinct or the brains to figure out how to seal the deal. Your instincts will protect you. You will naturally cover your face and neck. You will naturally lash out and strike strong blows on the dog. The dog's bites will generally be of a painful and disfiguring nature. They will not generally be crippling or immediately life-threatening. Unless it is trained by humans specifically to kill humans (in which case, you can hardly call it a contest of man against beast alone), you can expect the dog to fight stupidly in a life-and-death struggle. Even unskilled bludgeoning attacks will impair the dog's fighting strength, wear it down, cripple it, and finally kill it. Endurance, patience, superior size, intelligence, and clarity of purpose are large advantages. Whenever the dog has committed its only weapon to an attacking one limb, the man will find opportunity to retaliate with at least one of the other three, dealing dangerous and cumulative damage. To the people claiming that the dog would quickly cripple or kill the man: the statistics do not bear this out. People are tougher than that, and dogs are not efficient killers.

A lot of you totally overestimate your pain threshold. Its like me saying I can sprint with a fractured ankle if my life depended on it by just 'taking the pain.' Doesn't work that way. Someone clearly hasn't seen I Shouldn't Be Alive. It actually does work that way. Humans are capable of incredible things when the situation becomes life and death. The reason you couldn't move your hand was because it's your fucking dog. It's not like you have adrenaline running thru you, your brain telling you you're going to die if you don't move your hand. (This isn't an argument humans would kick a dogs ass, this is just correcting a statement that is clearly false =/)

It MIGHT have like 1% of the time, but most of the time it doesn't. And I think I saw one of those shows, a guy broke his ankle, and still managed to make it down a mountain and such. However, thats why I said sprint in my initial message. I acknowledge ppl can do crazy shit, but even then the guy was hobbling down the mountain limping and half crawling with his broken ankle. You can bear SOME pain, but there are limitations on the effectiveness of the limb then (couldn't walk on it right).

You should take note of the program's name, Shouldn't be Alive lol. It MIGHT have like 1% of the time, but most of the time it doesn't. lol, whatever. Only way to settle an argument like this would be to go thru records of people who died via unnatural causes, and find out in what way they endured their last moments. Personally, I don't have access to that type of information, but apparently you do since you're so sure ![]()

Mans strength and speed is the most pathetic in the animal kingdom. Man is prone to panic. Most dogs are socialized and bred to be submisive to humans and are reluctant to fight. If prone to fight dogs know weakspots in the oponent instictively. Man has one of the best endurance in the animal kingdom. The main reason we are superior is in handling tools/weapons and improvisation.

Mans paintreshold is the most pathetic in the animal kingdom. Where do you get this information? Don't you think a deer's 'pain threshold' (whatever that means) is less than a man's, when it's being attacked by a predator? Don't they just instinctively give up once they know they're down, and pass out? I think it's the Vagus Nerve that does that. Actually... to be honest I don't see how one animals pain threshold is at all different from another's. All animals give up when they know they're done for, and all animals fight against all odds when they're in danger and they think they have a chance... Humans aren't different. + Show Spoiler + Activation of the vagus nerve typically leads to a reduction in heart rate, blood pressure, or both. This occurs commonly in the setting of gastrointestinal illness such as viral gastroenteritis or acute cholecystitis, or in response to other stimuli, including carotid sinus massage, Valsalva maneuver, or pain from any cause, particularly having blood drawn. When the circulatory changes are great enough, vasovagal syncope results. Relative dehydration tends to amplify these responses. ROFL at the last note... so random.Excessive activation of the vagal nerve during emotional stress, which is a parasympathetic overcompensation of a strong sympathetic nervous system response associated with stress, can also cause vasovagal syncope because of a sudden drop in blood pressure and heart rate. Vasovagal syncope affects young children and women more often. It can also lead to temporary loss of bladder control under moments of extreme fear. Research has shown that women who have complete transection of the spinal cord can experience orgasms through the vagus nerve, which can go from the uterus, cervix and probably the vagina to the brain.
