We pay for 50/5 and usually get around 45/4. Today it's been a bit slow, though it usually is on weekends. From what I can tell, we have no cap even though Shaw's website says we do, because their primary competition here, Sasktel, does not have caps on any of their internet packages, so if Shaw tries to enforce them people just threaten to switch to Sasktel.
The results of Speedtest vary quite a bit. If I pick a server in my own city, I get a speed of 20Mb/s and a ping of over 100, yet if I pick the capitals in any of the near by provinces I get much higher.

This is a nice site to compare internet stats across the globe. According to them, S-Korea has by far the fastest average connection with 17.5 Mbps, followed by Japan and Hong Kong (both 9.1 Mbps) and the Netherlands (8.2 mbps).
Of course this is the average, and it doesn't say anything about the quality of the connection, nor about the prices.

The only downside of my internet is the 100 GB per month limit. Speaking of that, i still have ten days left until a reset, and i'm at 95 percent >.<
