That said, the political system currently in Russia is in essence its own thing. It has its positives, and it has its deep negatives like every other political system that has ever existed. If a new term were to be coined called Putinism sure why not, it would be that. But saying its fascism makes you look like a moron, and it makes normal people sympathys more with the opposite of whatever you stand for. My 2 cents.
As for your last sentence. Over the last few years, would you rather be in Belarus or Ukraine? However much you might soapbox it most of you would pick Belarus

That's because Russia is "advancing" and collecting (or not) the bodies of soldiers on the go. If the exchange of bodies would be equivalent it would mean that Russian soldiers regularly make it into the territory fully controlled by Ukrainians so that they can collect them. The fact that so few Russian bodies are on the Ukrainian side means that not many make it past defenses.

It's not fascism, despite matching every definition of the word, it's Putinism..!
Do you ever read your own messages? Do you believe the words you write?
What is it about fascism that you think makes it so bad you can't use that word, and why do you think Russia isn't doing this? Explain to us what you think differentiates Fascism from Putinism

Hey, we might have an opportunity to correct two of your wrong beliefs here, which is interesting. It isn't any kind of point at all that the political system in Russia is "its own thing", every single political system ever has been its own thing. When we attribute a political ideology to a government, we're not saying it's going to behave exactly in the same way as other governments with that ideology in every single circumstance every time, we're talking general ideas and broad strokes. France under Macron, for example, is in a neoliberal system, which is also the case of, say, the US under Clinton. It doesn't mean that Macron is exactly like Clinton. We know this already, and you should too.
Second one, notice how, even though I really dislike Macron, I didn't call him a fascist? Well it shows that 'everyone I don't like' isn't a fascist. You are wrong.

However I'll attempt to describe it as a popular nationalist movement, created by poor economic conditions and a sudden loss of national power and prestige, materialised in a charismatic leader willing to engage in aggressive rhetoric with the wider world while using his popularity to override democratic safeguards and consolidate his position as a Fuhrer and resulting in outward expansion as the rhetoric snowballs and the nationalistic fire that is his support needs more fuel to keep it burning. Centralisation of power, direct central appointment of previously democratic positions, taking over the media and removing constitutional blocks on central power. Putins Russia has all of these. It's definitely an interesting line of thought. Over 17 years ago. Who could have foreseen that Russia’s economic and military recovery under a fascist dictator would lead to centralization and expansionism? Me. Because, it’s really obvious. It’s been obvious what Putin is for decades.
Weird that even though the Maidan is the only reason Russia is rebuilding its empire it was somehow obvious Russia would try to rebuild its empire years before the Maidan.

The United Kingdom isn't a communist country, we can tell because communism as a political and economic ideology has a set of defining characteristics and goals, that the UK has not met. For example, in the UK most of the means of production are in private hands and there is a social hierarchy between people who are working for a living (workers) and people who own companies and do fuckall for a living (capitalists), both of which wouldn't exist in a communist country.
The Dalai lama isn't an african tribal witch doctor because those words refer to different things, one is the dalai lama, a spiritual chief for buddhism in Tibet, and an african tribal witch doctor would be someone with some sort of spiritual leadership role in an african tribe (I assume? I don't know if they're leaders or not actually). Tibet isn't in Africa, and there is no direct or indirect link between these two positions at all.
"Which can pigs fly" is not an english sentence, I think you meant "which pigs can fly", and the answer is none. We can be confident of that because they don't have any organs that would be tasked with flying ability.
It is very easy to answer these questions, as you can see.

Why would you rather be Belarus than Poland? The whole 'everyone I don't like is a fascist' schtick is only cute in very niche online communities. Anyone from the general public coming into contact with you like this would automatically disregard your opinion and ridicule you. Adding a top 10 list of 'fascist qualities' you pulled from TikTok doesn't help you much, you could say the Vatican is a fascist state if you grasp at straws long enough. However much you might soapbox it most of you would pick Belarus I’m really confused to why you support a fascist and think fascism is an insult. Like I could see why a leftist would see it as an insult or a liberal , but it makes no sense for you. And that’s not a list from TikTok, it’s the academic definition. https://www.keene.edu/academics/cchgs/resources/presentation-materials/characteristics-and-appeal-of-fascism/download/ Keene State Collage, I'm crying hahaha. Academic definition 🤣 What do you think separates Putinism and Fascism? What makes Russia not a fascist country? Why are you asking me? I cant pull out a powerpoint slide from a liberal arts community collage for the academic definition. Oh, this was good. Havent laughed that hard in a while, thanks billy So, prove me wrong. Explain why Putinism is not fascism. Edit: also, political science is a liberal art, so going to a liberal arts college makes sense. Where would you like me to get a definition from instead and I will? So explain why the United Kingdom is a communist country, why the Dalai Lama is an African tribal witchdoctor, why can pigs fly? You get this a lot with niche bubbles, go into a flat Earth forum and argue why the Earth isn't flat. Yes its easy to dunk on these people but in the end you tried to make them not make morons out of themselves. Why would I want to stop you screeching everything is fascist? It makes me look better lol, please continue And take the L bro with the liberal arts collage slide, why are you doubling down on this. Just pivot to Putin has cancer, Russian economy/industry about to collapse, 'will somebody please think of the refineries?' cope slop-posting like the Norwegian and Polish guys. It will bring a smile to my face for the next few days when I randomly remember it so I genuinely thank you for that. It made my evening Where’s the L? UK is a neo liberal system. Dalai Lama is a Buddhist and if I tell people that they won’t be angry about.
If I call GH a communist or communist supporter he is not going to be mad at me, he is going to say yes.
I’m not saying everything is fascist, just that fascists are.
You clearly just don’t understand what a fascist is and are unwilling to look it up. If you think it’s bad, maybe don’t support it?
No one reading this thread thinks you are owning me. You are just dodging and insulting. This should be easy for you just start with.
This is what fascism is, and this is why Russia isn’t it.

Academic definition 🤣 Here's a list of characteristics defining a fascist state concocted by Umberto Eco, but you can use any of the listed definitions:
1. "The cult of tradition", characterized by cultural syncretism, even at the risk of internal contradiction. When all truth has already been revealed by tradition, no new learning can occur, only further interpretation and refinement.
2. "The rejection of modernism", which views the rationalistic development of Western culture since the Enlightenment as a descent into depravity. Eco distinguishes this from a rejection of superficial technological advancement, as many fascist regimes cite their industrial potency as proof of the vitality of their system.
3. "The cult of action for action's sake", which dictates that action is of value in itself and should be taken without intellectual reflection. This, says Eco, is connected with anti-intellectualism and irrationalism, and often manifests in attacks on modern culture and science.
4. "Disagreement is treason" – fascism devalues intellectual discourse and critical reasoning as barriers to action, as well as out of fear that such analysis will expose the contradictions embodied in a syncretistic faith.
5. "Fear of difference", which fascism seeks to exploit and exacerbate, often in the form of racism or an appeal against foreigners and immigrants.
6. "Appeal to a frustrated middle class", fearing economic pressure from the demands and aspirations of lower social groups.
7. "Obsession with a plot" and the hyping-up of an enemy threat. This often combines an appeal to xenophobia with a fear of disloyalty and sabotage from marginalized groups living within the society (such as the German elite's "fear" of the 1930s Jewish populace's businesses and well-doings; see also antisemitism). Eco also cites Pat Robertson's book The New World Order as a prominent example of a plot obsession.
8. Fascist societies rhetorically cast their enemies as "at the same time too strong and too weak". On the one hand, fascists play up the power of certain disfavored elites to encourage in their followers a sense of grievance and humiliation. On the other hand, fascist leaders point to the decadence of those elites as proof of their ultimate feebleness in the face of an overwhelming popular will.
9. "Pacifism is trafficking with the enemy" because "life is permanent warfare" – there must always be an enemy to fight. Both fascist Germany under Hitler and Italy under Mussolini worked first to organize and clean up their respective countries and then build the war machines that they later intended to and did use, despite Germany being under restrictions of the Versailles treaty to not build a military force. This principle leads to a fundamental contradiction within fascism: the incompatibility of ultimate triumph with perpetual war.
10. "Contempt for the weak", which is uncomfortably married to a chauvinistic popular elitism, in which every member of society is superior to outsiders by virtue of belonging to the in-group. Eco sees in these attitudes the root of a deep tension in the fundamentally hierarchical structure of fascist polities, as they encourage leaders to despise their underlings, up to the ultimate leader, who holds the whole country in contempt for having allowed him to overtake it by force.
11. "Everybody is educated to become a hero", which leads to the embrace of a cult of death. As Eco observes, "[t]he Ur-Fascist hero is impatient to die. In his impatience, he more frequently sends other people to death."
12. "Machismo", which sublimates the difficult work of permanent war and heroism into the sexual sphere. Fascists thus hold "both disdain for women and intolerance and condemnation of nonstandard sexual habits, from chastity to homosexuality".
13. "Selective populism" – the people, conceived monolithically, have a common will, distinct from and superior to the viewpoint of any individual. As no mass of people can ever be truly unanimous, the leader holds himself out as the interpreter of the popular will (though truly he dictates it). Fascists use this concept to delegitimize democratic institutions they accuse of "no longer represent[ing] the voice of the people".
14. "Newspeak" – fascism employs and promotes an impoverished vocabulary in order to limit critical reasoning. Russia pretty much checks all the boxes except for no. 6.
And here's a definition given by the Russian Academy of Sciences:
Фашизм — это идеология и практика, утверждающая превосходство и исключительность определённой нации или расы и направленная на разжигание национальной нетерпимости, обоснование дискриминации в отношении представителей иных народов, отрицание демократии, установление культа вождя, применение насилия и террора для подавления политических противников и любых форм инакомыслия, оправдание войны как средства решения межгосударственных проблем.
DeepL:
Fascism is an ideology and practice that asserts the superiority and exclusivity of a particular nation or race and seeks to foment national intolerance, justify discrimination against members of other nations, deny democracy, establish a cult of the leader, use violence and terror to suppress political opponents and all forms of dissent, and justify war as a means to solve inter-state problems. Are you telling you me this doesn't describe Russia perfectly?
What's funny is you have no issues being a fascist, just being called one.
