Americans are worse then the rest of the world thought. The fact that after 4 years of Trump bullshit and this year his Covid response the race still comes down to a nail biter is a scathing criticism of the state of American politics and the beliefs of the American people compared to the rest of the western world. For shame America, for shame. (obviously not all Americans are bad, and the popular vote goes to Biden but still, WTF man). | ||

Yeah the continued bashing of Trump's Covid response starts to look a bit silly when Europe is reporting worse numbers and various countries are entering a 2nd lockdown. Our politicians sure did a much better job eh. | ||

Like the ones we have in EU. The fact that Trump is that close to winning after 4 years of left propaganda in the media, means that the the Americans have really strong feel of democracy and freedom. | ||

To be fair, they inherited it from the Brits, who are only very very very slightly better. Seeing how, in many aspects, their democratic institutions are very similar, I'm starting to think it might be the system and its effect on polarizing the discussion, rather than the people. But then I look at Italy and their system that is not dissimilar to other mainland European nations, and the fact that they elected and then reelected Berlusconi. As a person, Berlusconi is definitely no better than Trump. But I guess it being Italy and their politics having been a disfunctional shitshow for as long as anybody can remember made us disregard that? | ||

Arizona is pulling an Ohio by having all the EV and absentee in first and then the in-person votes later. Just a matter if there's enough vote there for Trump to flip Arizona. | ||

Biden will have to keep that margin if he wants to win AZ. Going to be very very close. | ||

He is the utter definition of Corrupt and useless. And a strong feeling of Democracy and Freedom? Trump literally said not long ago that the vote counting should stop and that he should be declared the winner with an unfinished count. That isn't Democracy, that is a strait up Dictatorship. | ||

Individual state governors are primarily responsible for successes after the abdication of responsibility by the Federal government. Trump skipped the first few briefings on Coronavirus, ignored the next few, and after it became clear he couldn't ignore it he publicly dismissed it. Remember "it'll be gone by Easter" and "one day it'll disappear, like magic". Those were six months ago. It didn't disappear. Remember the politicization of masks? How Trump held parties and infected everyone around him? But without Federal leadership state governors had to step up. Evidence of this can be clearly seen by the dramatic differences between the outcomes in otherwise comparable states. MLG in NM was more aggressive with lockdowns and has been rewarded with much lower deaths per capita than neighbouring AZ, for example. Were we to accept your argument that would lead us to conclude that Trump can be thanked for NM's low rate of death when, in fact, he insisted that the lockdowns were part of a conspiracy to destroy the economy and make him look bad. | ||
