I do also find her uncomfortable to listen to, but I think that's intentional. I think she's doing good work, as she's clearly trying to make her audience uncomfortable. The thing is that we aren't her target audience : world leaders are. And yes, all of them deserve to squirm on the issue of climate change.
I think China has a better chance of dealing with Climate change successfully than the US does. Their centralized economy means they can go ahead and shut down all coal mining once they have enough renewables, while we're still investing in scrubbing coal fumes because of propaganda about a tiny amount of jobs in one region that are dropping for unrelated reasons.

I think you're right there, at least structurally. As to whether the will will ever be there that's another thing entirely, but it would be a lot easier to actually do with China's system.
