Alright, I tried to listen to Fox news for a few minuts. I know they're republicans and trump supporters, but i like getting informations from all sources. Never again. I'm shocked. How in hell does a mainstream media can say on TV : THEY ARE STEALING THE ELECTION !
God, they looked to arrogant, like they're better than everyone else.
Some guy said : "Media will be the real loser here, i hope we all can do better" The main presenter answered "I don't need to do better"
That's so pathetic. Damn. Never again. America is full of surprises, bad surprises.

That's so pathetic. Damn. Never again. America is full of surprises, bad surprises. I was watching NBC for a while and then switched to abc, as nbc was allways just talking about "what is the patch for biden" and "how can he possibly win". But that is a completly different level of bias. Holy shit

*monkey paw finger curls*
But really I had consigned myself to either winning it sucking, then Biden, then Trump, then Biden, and now back to either but resolution would be nice.

You’re right, I can’t let myself monkey paw this. I fully accept any and all delays.

I wonder if down the road Fox et al will regret the uncorking, I’m not sure this genie of anger and discontent they’ve helped stoke will particularly want to go back into their bottle.
These people who’ve been emboldened are not controllable in their anger, you can’t just say stop at some rubicon and have them fall into line.
You give Trump leeway on mail-in ballot fraud rhetoric and act surprised that he’s agitating on Election Day, and that you can’t rein it in.

I watched the entire Election Night on ABC News. That was a complete coincidence, it was the first stream that popped up when I searched for election night coverage in google. I was pretty impressed tbh, from what I can tell they had Chris Christie and then a Democrat politician in the studio + lots of independent analysts, as well as a legal team on standby and each hour an update from Nate Silver. I got insights/reactions/predictions from both sides and never really thought I was watching a biased stream.
So go ABC News, I guess?

So go ABC News, I guess? The real place to be is the 2020 Election Day thread on Team Liquid

I'm working during the night this week. Often too busy to follow minute by minute or even hour by hour. Finally had some down time the last few hours and got caught up with this thread. I feel like I didn't miss a thing!
The live reporting has been awesome. Makes me nostalgic for bw when we all used to get together like this or osl/msl

Oh yeah, I knew i was stepping into dangerous territory with Fow news, but i didn't expect them to say on tv that the election was stolen and that trump supporters will be right to rage all around the country... That's a call for civil war. Unbelievable...

Yeah. Pity that some people are not here to say that the notion that Trump is undermining democracy and a wannabe authoritarian is left wing hysteria.

In the 30+ year future though, yes, Republicans have a relatively bleak looking future. If Californians keep moving there, maybe. If Republicans keep the momentum with Hispanics going like they have in 2020, maybe not. Starr county, Texas, 96% Hispanic, 20%+ swing to Trump. All of those heavily Hispanic border counties swung big to Trump, even flipping a few.Seems like they may approve of the wall.

My impression always was, that Trump was mostly doing politics for the rich uneducated, white, (old) men. I don t get why any other demographic group would vote in large percentages for him. Anyone insight on that?

It's at least part of the story. If the liberals and progressives manage to dispel the notion that they are marxists and want to start a bolivarian revolution, they should win them back, but against the formidable propaganda machine of the right, it's gonna be hard.
Of course it's not the whole story. And I suspect we should stop talking about "the latino vote". Immigrants from Cuba and immigrants from Mexico seem to have little in common and very different political behaviour.

I could see some of the black vote swinging via exasperation with the Dems, Trump did make a point about black unemployment levels being at historic lows so maybe that was enough of a hook?
I can see a smallish swing from people from every ethnic group who don’t like ‘identity politics’. I would have thought this would have remained relatively stable since 2016 but I suppose it could have increased as racial tensions have increased.
Biden was running left of Clinton too, and progressive policies outside of race-specific and social ones don’t play particularly well across the minority chessboard. A Bernie Sanders never did well amongst African-Americans for example, so maybe Biden making some concessions to the progressive wing didn’t play well.
As others have said Cuban Latinos specifically recoil at anything approaching left politics, so they came out for Trump rather hardcore.
Those are all my pet theories of various levels of being fleshed out just off the top of my head, I’d like to hear what some of my more learned TL colleagues have on this.
