and while we joke moves are being made. Trump says he’s placing Washington police under federal control and activating the National Guard WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump said Monday he’s taking over Washington’s police department and activating 800 members of the National Guard in the hopes of reducing crime, even as city officials stressed crime is already falling in the nation’s capital. The president, flanked by his attorney general, his defense secretary and the FBI director, said he was declaring a public safety emergency and his administration would be removing homeless encampments. “We’re going to take our capital back,” Trump declared, adding he’d also be “getting rid of the slums.” For Trump, the effort to take over public safety in Washington reflects an escalation of his aggressive approach to law enforcement. The District of Columbia’s status as a congressionally established federal district gives him a unique opportunity to push his tough-on-crime agenda, though he has not proposed solutions to the root causes of homelessness or crime. Attorney General Pam Bondi will assume responsibility for Washington’s metro police department, Trump said, as he also railed against potholes and graffiti in the city and called them “embarrassing.” The president did not provide a timeline for the control of the police department, but he’s limited to 30 days under statute. ... Local officials rejected the Republican president’s depiction of the district as crime-ridden and called his actions illegal. “The administration’s actions are unprecedented, unnecessary, and unlawful,” District of Columbia Attorney General Brian Schwalb said. “There is no crime emergency in the District of Columbia.” Schwalb, a Democrat, said violent crime in the district reached historic 30-year lows last year and is down another 26% this year. doing unprecedented authoritarian things because stunt - which in itself is crazy and very Trump - or actual scary move? or plain revenge for big balls having his balls handed to him and Trump feeling protective for a kindred spirit? imagine a Democrat having the gall to even think about what Trump is shamelessly doing. but more importantly getting away with it. after all Fox is fair and balanced and serious outlets fake news. Trump is nothing short of consistent really, just make the totally real "fair and balanced" Fox stories of crime ridden Democrat cities a "reality" by sending in the boys. crime stats be damned.

Oh really and who are these redhats that think their COVID stimulus check came from Trump's bank account? Have you met them? How many have you met? Or are these just nameless people on twitter? I doubt you've met any of them unless you're secretly stalking them because you're a chaser of MAGA girls. Or perhaps you're bitter about being turned down by a MAGA girl? Just kidding. I don't care. I just thought I would meet you with the same argument I am met with when I make some generalization about crazies on the left.

Now, if I were I in your circumstance, I would probably shut the fuck up for at least a week out shame, as opposed to wildly accusing everyone else of lies while explicitly drawing attention to the fact that you feel entitled to do so because you yourself were caught in a lie, but I guess that's the difference between you and I. I think your delusions are getting the better of you because I didn't "admit I was lying." In fact I think my response was to call it ignorance to believe that non-binary people with neopronouns don't exist in the numbers that I could have met dozens of them.

And just so there's no ambiguity here, a "dozen" is 12, so "dozens" means 24 at minimum.

Meeting >24 is more than happenstance is what we're saying. Either you find them or they find you or you happen to be in a circumstance where you're continuously bump in to them lol. It's quite relevant; also you seem to think they're always weirdly overstepping some social boundaries so I'm so curious how you would come to that conclusion after meeting >24 of them. Were they all zealots as you perceive the trans community to be?

I like the fetish explanation the most, personally. I would also love for our resident "I'm OK with things Trump does but not all of them and I won't defend most of them or him personally" crowd who spent a lot of time explaining how immigrants are threatening US sovereignty and deploying the national guard was a good move by Trump to get seditious California under control to enlighten us why Trump is turning DC into a police state?

Were they all zealots as you perceive the trans community to be? In my line of work I've met hundreds if not thousands of people in various stages of mental health crises. If you follow the news even poorly over the last 5 years you'd be aware that there's an increasing pediatric mental health epidemic and there's simultaneously been an explosion of adolescents exploring all kinds of ideas about gender. You also may or may not be aware that there's a pretty large correlation between being transgender/non-binary and having issues with mental health, e.g. depression, hopelessness, suicidality, etc. San Francisco, having locked children out of schools the longest and having a large LGBT population is sort of the ground zero of both. Of course you may think "But BJ only a small subset of trans adolescents are non-binary and an even smaller subset use neo-pronouns." And I agree. Which must mean that people that use neopronouns must be really really overrepresented in the sample size I've met. Hell, maybe seeing many children struggling with their identity and their mental health might be why I think bombarding children with all kinds of ideas about gender may not be a beneficial thing for them. I don't know what me believing trans people "overstep social boundaries" or believing "they are all zealots" is about. I surmise that the noise coming from the right is foisted onto me because I'm viewed as the conservative voice here, which is often the case. For example, I am frequently accused of wanting to police what bathrooms people use and LightSpectra even began the dialogue by asking me if I'm obsessed with trans people because it gives an excuse to assault them in the bathroom. On July 03 2023 15:00 BlackJack wrote: Bathroom bans Just political theater in my opinion. People don’t go into the wrong bathrooms not because it’s the law but because that’s what societal norms dictate. I’m not aware of this being a problem and if it becomes a problem then you can worry about legislating it. On July 04 2023 02:11 BlackJack wrote: I don’t really care what bathrooms people use On July 18 2024 09:42 BlackJack wrote: Whether someone is “passing” is completely irrelevant to what bathroom they should use. Not every trans woman wants to wear dresses and have breasts and long hair. Clothing and hairstyles don’t have a designated gender. Men can have long hair and women can have a full beard. People shouldn’t have to fulfill certain gender stereotypes just to take a shit. I don’t disagree with a lot of your points cLutZ but you’re doing yourself a disservice here with this ridiculous take.
