What's your working definition of "bipartisan"? Or was this meant as a joke? I can't tell with your posts sometimes.

I think he thinks he's serious, but treating all his posts as a joke by default has been what I do lately.

Highly, highly recommended.

Also, did anyone else see yet that The Onion bought out InfoWars, Alex Jones's fake news site that spread lies and slander? In a mote of unexpectedly good news:

The satirical news publication The Onion won the bidding for Alex Jones’ Infowars at a bankruptcy auction, backed by families of Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims whom Jones owes more than $1 billion in defamation judgments for calling the massacre a hoax.

The purchase turns over Jones’ company, which for decades has peddled in conspiracy and misinformation, to a humor website that plans to relaunch the Infowars platform in January as a parody. Within hours of the sale’s announcement Thursday, Infowars’ website was down and Jones was broadcasting from what he said was a new studio location.

Also just a genuinely funny fate to befall such a loathsome excuse for a man. Sometimes good things happen at the expense of bad people.

Yeah, I went back and edited in that it's an AP article. It's legit. And might I add, the journalistic integrity of InfoWars is liable to increase exponentially as a result. Couldn't have happened to a worse guy.

On a slightly related note, I used to have a coworker who was pretty into me being British because he identified as Scottish and as he understood it we were basically the same. His family had been in the US for generations but he felt very strongly that he was Scottish. He even took annual trips to Scotland to meet up with the rest of his "clan" which I'm assuming consists entirely of rich Americans and a representative from the tourism board of Scotland. He bought his family tartan and showed us photos and everything.

I never had the heart to tell him that he's not Scottish and that the whole thing is a scam. Scottish people don't identify as belonging to a clan and anyone from anywhere in the world can show up in Edinburgh and be sold their family's historic tartan. If Mr Patel shows up cash in hand and wants to know more about the MacPatel clan then the tourism board of Scotland will happily tell him their noble and tragic story.
Its such an American thing, no doubt a result of there being almost no actual true Americans, they're all invaders or refugees and its been recent enough that people still give a shit.
You won't find people in Europe talking about how they are 15% Spanish or 20% Germanic.

In my experience it's because NA is largely microcultures and understanding where you fit in in those makes sense. Both my parents emigrated with their families from Holland when they were kids, and met/married each other because dutch communities stayed largely dutch, even in Canada. Growing up I can think of plenty of filipino / native / polish / etc microcommunities, and it did in places impact how cliques / social groups formed in high school etc.

When the culture at large is poorly defined and your history is unclear and probably short, it makes some sense to go find some, I guess?

No you didnt. I can see oBlade point, considering that two of Trump appointees were Democrats 4 years ago. (not sure about decades, but I dont think Biden had anyone in his cabinet who was Republican in 2016 - may be wrong though). I cant see though any point in what you wrote (maybe except: "hehe, that will show him", thats not much of a point though). Surely glad that it made you feel better though.

Trump was Hitler a little bit over week ago, and now about Alex Jones : " Couldn't have happened to a worse guy." You either dont know who Hitler was, or Alex Jones dude is some hybrid of Genghis Khan, Stalin, and maybe Xenomorph.

His national security picks were giving me hope but the last few...Gabbard will probably make it, Gaetz probably won't (everyone hates him) and I already saw one GOP senator doing "RFK says some good things so I look forward to hearing more" which basically means he'll get a hearing and we'll see what happens after that.

There's a lot of stuff that needs to be fixed in these bureaucracies so these seem like sub-optimal picks even before you get to other concerns.

Why would there even be a bipartisan executive? Isn't the whole point to reject the so-called uniparty wholesale? A bipartisan executive that was anything more than a rhetorical game would be a major betrayal by Trump to his voters would it not?

I am not to savvy about this procedures in the US, But do you think that recess thing which I saw mentioned would allow Trump to force his picks on?

Alex Jones is a predatory piece of shit that sold lies for profit at the expense of families that were already grieving the loss of their children to gun violence, and harassed them for his own benefit using lies and conspiracy theories. I don't care to quibble with you about whether he was literally the single worst person alive. It was a figure of speech, asshole.

Even with Trump having just won it's hard for me to see the Senate and House agreeing to adjourn for him to do that. And now that he's made some controversial picks, I just don't see it happening. The House majority is slim, and many Senators will be around after Trump leaves office, so...

Edit: and randomly CO Gov Jared Polis (-D) endorses RFK Jr lol what

I don't think you understand. RFK Jr. is not a member of the Democratic party. If you want to believe "bipartisan" means adding in a member of the "We The People" party, then fine, but your own response reflects that bipartisan is generally referring to actual Democrats and Republicans (the two parties who generally have power in this country), not appointing some third-party grifter who had promised to drop out of the race and support Trump if Trump gave him a Cabinet position.

Trump has never given any inclination to bipartisan rule, basically ever. He’ll force through his cabinet regardless, arguably he has a mandate to.

What he doesn’t have is any rights to your brain, for your ability to actually think and process things cogently.

‘I’m not too savvy on…’ well maybe don’t pontificate on them then? Have you considered giving research a shot? Maybe go and actually look into these things and come back you know?

It’s really not all that hard.

I am not to savvy about this procedures in the US, But do you think that recess thing which I saw mentioned would allow Trump to force his picks on?

Trump has never given any inclination to bipartisan rule, basically ever. He’ll force through his cabinet regardless, arguably he has a mandate to.

What he doesn’t have is any rights to your brain, for your ability to actually think and process things cogently.

‘I’m not too savvy on…’ well maybe don’t pontificate on them then? Have you considered giving research a shot? Maybe go and actually look into these things and come back you know?

It’s really not all that hard.

C'mon I expected better of you. I admitted I am not to savvy on "procedures" far as I know those have nothing to do with Trump. Introvert seems from other posts in this thread, as someone who has rather good grasp on them. I dont think admitting lack of knowledge of something and asking about it is something to be ashamed off?

on a side note on this bit, because it amused me:
"Have you considered giving research a shot?" - yes I did. I was told to trust the experts .

As for other posts in reply to me I think I gave satisfactory response already in my previous post, replying to Wombat.

Edit: Another thing that amused me: Me accusing NewSunshine of "You being unable to express yourself properly" and then using coma instead of full stop .

Yeah, I went back and edited in that it's an AP article. It's legit. And might I add, the journalistic integrity of InfoWars is liable to increase exponentially as a result. Couldn't have happened to a worse guy.

Trump was Hitler a little bit over week ago, and now about Alex Jones : " Couldn't have happened to a worse guy." You either dont know who Hitler was, or Alex Jones dude is some hybrid of Genghis Khan, Stalin, and maybe Xenomorph.

You being unable to express yourself properly makes me an "asshole", cute.

I think most people fully stop when they fall into a coma.
