Trump was Hitler a little bit over week ago, and now about Alex Jones : " Couldn't have happened to a worse guy." You either dont know who Hitler was, or Alex Jones dude is some hybrid of Genghis Khan, Stalin, and maybe Xenomorph.
Alex Jones is a predatory piece of shit that sold lies for profit at the expense of families that were already grieving the loss of their children to gun violence, and harassed them for his own benefit using lies and conspiracy theories. I don't care to quibble with you about whether he was literally the single worst person alive. It was a figure of speech, asshole.

I am not to savvy about this procedures in the US, But do you think that recess thing which I saw mentioned would allow Trump to force his picks on?
Trump has never given any inclination to bipartisan rule, basically ever. He’ll force through his cabinet regardless, arguably he has a mandate to.
What he doesn’t have is any rights to your brain, for your ability to actually think and process things cogently.
‘I’m not too savvy on…’ well maybe don’t pontificate on them then? Have you considered giving research a shot? Maybe go and actually look into these things and come back you know?
It’s really not all that hard.
C'mon I expected better of you. I admitted I am not to savvy on "procedures" far as I know those have nothing to do with Trump. Introvert seems from other posts in this thread, as someone who has rather good grasp on them. on a side note on this bit, because it amused me: "Have you considered giving research a shot?" - yes I did. I was told to trust the experts .
As for other posts in reply to me I think I gave satisfactory response already in my previous post, replying to Wombat.

Ignorance is nothing to be ashamed of, but you seem to want to give your opinion regardless, even if ill-informed
And if it turns out to be wrong it’s ‘oh noes how was I to know!?’

You wholly misunderstood me in another thread and then ghosted when corrected, so I don't have resounding faith in your willingness to actually engage and have civil conversations.
There's nothing for me to learn, willing or no, when I choose to use a figure of speech, and someone comes along, pushes up their (metaphorical) glasses, indicating that my figure of speech actually isn't literally true.
Gee. I learned something today. What would I have done without this valuable encounter...
I never understand what people here get from engaging with the "conservatives" here anyways. Not like its made most of you more Trumpian and you've certainly not prevented them from becoming more Trumpian, and I dont really see what there is to learn from them that you couldn't intuit from a vaguely jeering interpretation of any American "conservative" who pretends to dislike Trump and then heartily handwaves anything that he does that contradicts their supposed values.

You can learn some things if they are acting in good faith. Even if they are deranged or deceived if you lay out their beliefs logistically, you can see what deception or belief got them to that point. And use that for future diagnosis. Bad faith, yeah not much to be gained there. The more people are in the know, and still vote GOP, there are some major cognitive dissonances going on which can be illuminating. The people that ended up pushing Trump over the finish line in 2024 have a combination of:
- media literacy in the gutter - rarely left their home state or city - dont watch news at all and believe greater narratives like "gop good for economy" or "i will be rich someday and therefor"

Agreed. Even the shittier conservatives of the past such as xDaunt at least added some perspective when not operating in bad faith. I'd obviously vastly prefer if oBlade communicated in good faith, but I certainly wouldn't say all conservatives are worthless to talk to. Personally I'm much more interested in broadening my own understanding and stretching some communication muscles than I am trying to change anyone's mind.

- media literacy in the gutter - rarely left their home state or city - dont watch news at all and believe greater narratives like "gop good for economy" or "i will be rich someday and therefor"
To be fair, I very rarely read posts from most people I'd identify as "conservative" (quotation marks basically indicating Trump-apologist) since I find the posts extremely long, often detached from what I'd identify as reality, and I have a hard time feeling that theres any real fruit that is born from the conversations, so maybe you're all getting more from them than I'm seeing, though when I do read the back and forths it doesnt seem like it lol
Theres definitely a sect of American conservative I find worth talking to, but they're not the debater-types that this forum draws, they're more the populist-rust-belt type where at least I feel that you can get what their thoughts and feelings truly are, it feels like the more educated the American brand conservative the more the conversations become obfuscated debate-lord shit, y'know Ben Shapiro types

You being unable to express yourself properly makes me an "asshole", cute.

There's a lot of stuff that needs to be fixed in these bureaucracies so these seem like sub-optimal picks even before you get to other concerns.
I dont think admitting lack of knowledge of something and asking about it is something to be ashamed off?
on a side note on this bit, because it amused me: "Have you considered giving research a shot?" - yes I did. I was told to trust the experts .
As for other posts in reply to me I think I gave satisfactory response already in my previous post, replying to Wombat.
Edit: Another thing that amused me: Me accusing NewSunshine of "You being unable to express yourself properly" and then using coma instead of full stop .
Ignorance is nothing to be ashamed of, but you seem to want to give your opinion regardless, even if ill-informed
And if it turns out to be wrong it’s ‘oh noes how was I to know!?’
?
I will challenge you to quote me where I have opinion on procedures applying to electing members of cabinet?? I dont recall myself expressing such opinions? I had opinion who will win this election, who I think is better and so on. To my knowledge though I never even insinuated that I have expert knowledge about the process of president electing his cabinet.

You being unable to distinguish between literal and figurative speech and needing to litigate my post because you can't help yourself is acting like an asshole, yes.
Nobody likes a Grammar Nazi.
While I am operating under the assumption that you are unwilling to learn anything from this experience, I would like to inform you still, that I am rather doubtful that grammar is the issue here.
Now to help you cope with not getting your way I'll double quote you, It is rather helpful that my response feel adequate to both yours's and DPB posts:

I think most people fully stop when they fall into a coma.
Considering the way this discussion evolved I think it is rather appropriate to suggest that watching first 20 seconds of this video may help people with surviving Trump presidency :

You can learn some things if they are acting in good faith. Even if they are deranged or deceived if you lay out their beliefs logistically, you can see what deception or belief got them to that point. And use that for future diagnosis. Agreed. Even the shittier conservatives of the past such as xDaunt at least added some perspective when not operating in bad faith. I'd obviously vastly prefer if oBlade communicated in good faith, but I certainly wouldn't say all conservatives are worthless to talk to. Personally I'm much more interested in broadening my own understanding and stretching some communication muscles than I am trying to change anyone's mind.
xDaunt was at least "honest". This "new" ilk of "Trump is bad but still somehow better than everyone else" is a plague. It's 100% delusional, they rewrite reality as they go on. There is absolutely nothing to gain. Talking to these people in good faith is as fruitfull as talking to a "socialist/progressives"... The big diffrence is, the conservatives have the power to win elections, "socialist/progressives" only to lose them..

Isn't it awful when talking to anyone who has any difference of opinion to you is fruitless.

My dad always used to tell me that if everyone else seems like the problem its probably worth looking at yourself.
Pretending like the cozy centrist political consensus is working for enough people for you to consider only centrism to be worth engaging with is what I would call delusional.
If you don't believe me, look at the results of recent elections.
