He still sucks, but I’m not gonna pretend he wasn’t an upgrade

I’m not saying you didn’t, I’m just explaining why Newsom can still be fundamentally capitalist while also being someone I am satisfied with as an upgrade to Biden. Biden sucks and we could do better. I’ll keep upgrading until we reach utopia. If nothing else, Newsom recognizes the current political climate. He’ll fight more than Biden. Sign me up. Where do you think I’d end up disappointed?

Where do you think I’d end up disappointed? Probably the premise of a 2024 primary to start. As to Newsome, I suppose it depends on how or if Biden is disappointing you.

He did do and say some questionable things before war, but since it started he is doing ok. Yeah I feel like foreign policy is where he's been strongest, but that's not something that wins a lot of points with voters. Of the course there was Afghanistan and deporting Haitian refugees but I feel those were inherited problems that don't really have good solutions.

He banned state-funded travel to states with anti-LGBT laws because he didn't want to support them. Except right now he is vacationing in Montana. He banned indoor dining during COVID then threw himself a lavish indoor and maskless birthday party at The French Laundry. Not to mention he was fucking his campaign manager's wife. He's just another career politician that will say or do anything to get ahead. Of course that's par for the course among politicians. It's a great time to get ahead by throwing Biden and the Democratic party under the bus. "Where is the Democratic Party?" Newsom said later. "Where's the party? Why aren't we standing up more firmly, more resolutely? Why aren't we calling this out? This is a coordinated, concerted effort. And yes, they're winning. They are. They have been. Let's acknowledge that. We need to stand up, where's the counteroffensive?" These weak ass Democrats are trash at preventing the Republicans from doing whatever they want. We need someone who is going to stand up to them! *wink wink* He's clearly positioning himself for a Presidential run. He has said that he won't run if Biden seeks reelection. Honestly don't see how Biden is on the ticket 2 years from now. I can't imagine him being the President 6 years from now. He is barely able to read a teleprompter at this point.

Yeah, Bernie is too old, and its said that in spite of his truly geriatric age the Democrats cant muster someone with a tenth of his charisma or one infinitesmal fraction of his genuine values. Democrats are probably riding the Kamala/Buttigieg/Klobuchar train for the future and thats such a charismaless milquetoast bunch that its hard to imagine Democrats winning the kind of victories they need to win. This is all presuming elections mean literally anything in the US anymore, after all the Supreme Court could just tell the electorate to get fucked.

I like how eloquent he is, and anyone that can make a Fox News town hall audience embrace and cheer for abortion rights certainly is worth paying attention to. I do acknowledge that he’s probably a bit of a phony, but he crafts his words well. And I don’t think America needs 3 presidents in a row who cant speak complete sentences.
