I didn't think that there was a superlative of "unhinged", but i guess there is.
I just don't know the term.

I still find the basket of deplorables fascinating because that paragraph literally included a sentence about how there are tons of people supporting Trump with legitimate grievances. But context only matters for Republicans.

As per this motion, it’s a lot like pornography in that it’s difficult to legally define but I know it when I see it to butcher a quote.
Aside from being tricky to prove some causal link, I’m not sure of the wisdom pragmatically of further inflaming things right now.

Trump and his administration have been spineless pussies throughout his term. He should have known that they would steal the election and should fought them tooth an nail every single step of the way BEFORE the election. Its too late now to grow a spine, they let down the entire country and let the election get stolen. Kicking out party members will only split the Republican party, they all know that a splinter party will emerge and it will swallow the GOP whole. A lot more people voted for Trump rather than the Republican party. In any case the Republican Party as a whole shit the bed on this one You do know that Trump lost the election by millions of votes, he didn't have the election stolen from him, he is trying to steal it for him. You get this or no?
Jews. Jews and manipulated voting machines. Also, ballots. All of them fake. The ones that weren't, shredded. Every single one.
He won this "sacred landslide election". You're fake news.
I'm not entirely certain why people entertain zeo of all people. He's basically what you'd imagine a wegandaunt to be.

I don't really see any discrepancy between thinking someone could've had an interesting opinion on topic x and thinking that same person had no interest in being a part of our community and for that reason became toxic to the point where keeping him around was pointless. I did support the ban of xdaunt, but it was less because of his political opinions (I've fairly consistently argued for keeping multiple points of view around and I've also fairly consistently defended you) and more because he didn't seem to want to post in a civil manner at all. There's very little I agree with you politically on, but I still want to have you around, and I have no fondness for the efforts to shame you into compliance or whatever it is. It really is not what your country needs right now.

Brandenburg vs Ohio, my man. Inciting violence/terrorism is a crime, even in the US. Not always, but in this case it indeed would be. Interesting to see that a "republican" (you know, the "law and order guys") argues it'd be fascism to expel people who potentially committed a felony. Incitement to riot is also against federal law. But, here's a different idea. Don't remove them. Just prosecute them. Immediately. At the end of the Civil War, we also disqualified most Confederate leaders and military officials from holding public office. I think inciting a violent coup on our nation should be treated the same. If you fanned the flames of hysteria and disproven conspiracy theories to the point that your own followers stormed the nation's capital in hopes of overturning the results of a free and fair election, then you deserve to be removed from your position of public office.

Exactly, no need to take the seat away from Republicans, let them appoint someone else. But these people need to suffer the consequences of their actions.

I actually entirely disagree here. I don't think people try to force him into compliance, they try to force him to actually reflect. The reason he gets hammered on is despite this entire shit show, he still goes back to whataboutism, talking about how bad Clinton was and how she deserved to lose and whatnot.
This "piling on" is entirely of his own making by refusing to accept that trump was a mistake, and that it was ALWAYS obvious.
I bet you the second people actually would for a split second believe that he thinks Trump was a mistake (which he doesn't), people would slow down "the pilening".

I wonder about the situation in Pennsylvania in light of today. Will state Republican Senators keep trying to deny a Democrat senator that won his election and was certified from being sworn in or will they all try really hard to pretend like they didn't actually stage a coup yesterday?

He doesn't think Trump was a mistake against Hillary, but he admitted several pages ago that retrospectively, Trump was a mistake against Biden.

I'm reading some people say that Pence was the one who sent the national guard : not Trump. Not seeing any official reporting yet though.

to my knowledge nothing Dems did even comes close and nothing went as far as the bullshit spouted and actively purported by Rs in trying to overturn the election. having a problem with the electoral college, sure. and so what? if the ec victory does not reflect the majorities will and this discrepancy gets bigger cycle after cyle that's not a concern? with millions more votes you lose an election - in what world does that make sense?
I guess perfect sense as long as you stay in power and claim state's rights.
I don't care on eota for the Clintons, though that deplorables comment was spot on. you using the attack talking point created by the RNC/FOX attack machine by cutting it short does not make it wrong.
“You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right?” Clinton said. “The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic—you name it. And unfortunately there are people like that. And he has lifted them up.” but alas I digress, I am not interest in furthering this fruitless discussion.

Look at states where Republicans get kicked out. They do everything they can to strip voters of there power. I think they will just be emboldened now that they know they have a group that supports them. I think it is folly to think the days of Republicans peacefully giving up power is ever coming back.
