Yeah I expect they'll just throw Trump under the bus and go back to pretending they have values, as if he could have done any of this without the spineless sycophancy of non true believers. Trump and his administration have been spineless pussies throughout his term. He should have known that they would steal the election and should fought them tooth an nail every single step of the way BEFORE the election. Its too late now to grow a spine, they let down the entire country and let the election get stolen. The fact that you think this is what people should take away from the situation is mindboggling. It's genuinely asinine. No, the election wasn't stolen. Stop speaking like an absolute moron :D

I do think part of the reason why they didn't go full ham is simply because it's the Capitol. You can't fire willy nilly in there, if i'm not mistaken it's a quite historic building (and interior).
.. not that i actually think that's the entire reason, that would be the skin colour, but i do think it plays part.
I do think though they should've waltzed in there in riot gear and beat the living shit out of every single one of them before actually arresting them, rather than shooing them out of the building like the little rats they are. I would expect everything to be locked off for the inauguration. National Guard deployed with an exclusion zone around the event. Or they might hold it inside the White House like apparently happened in 1945.
One would assume something like that.
You also would assume that violent and armed protestors would be barred from entering the capitol though. Far right cockwombles tried that in germany too, but were stopped on the stairs and then pushed back by the police.

A lot of political discussion is ripe for debate. It's natural to see a lot of debate in a well-kept environment dedicated to political discussion. But it's fucking obnoxious when someone is hell-bent on arguing the sky is not blue. Not everything is a debate. Some things just are.

Yeah, I would've appreciated hearing his thoughts, but it is pretty rich hearing it said from someone in admin.

Abrams is part of why Ossof and Warnock pulled out the win. As soon as the runoff was declared she hit the ground running to drum up turnout. I refuse to let that be a point of shame. Enjoy Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

That would require a massive republican support. Many republican representatives also want to show a unified front against this. Do not discount the possibility of both parties purging reps that want to keep fueling the conspiracy fire.

This is probably gonna distract from the topic, but here's the TL search. If this stuff calms down and you're still interested, let me know. If anything else in the post was interesting, quote and respond to it.

playing with democratic norms is not something to take lightly. not everyone is so dead inside that cynical ploys like having a sizeable chunk of Rs not certifiying electoral college votes - checked and rechecked and found to be legitimate - because of fabricated and fake political concerns does not stir them.
and if you wanna go there, Clinton was right. what happend today was deplorable. she and many others just saw it earlier.
I don't know about taking away seats, but frankly they should be held responsible. you know party of personal responsibility and all.

I'm sure the death of one of their supporters they egged into charging the capital by spreading and engaging with baseless conspiracy theories they know to be false (I'm sure you could prove this with their email accounts, in fact) will weigh heavily on their consciences. Maybe that punishment is enough.
Oh wait...the GOP reps don't really have those.

Brandenburg vs Ohio, my man.
Inciting violence/terrorism is a crime, even in the US. Not always, but in this case it indeed would be.
Interesting to see that a "republican" (you know, the "law and order guys") argues it'd be fascism to expel people who potentially committed a felony.
Incitement to riot is also against federal law. But, here's a different idea. Don't remove them. Just prosecute them. Immediately.

Can't be prosecuted for anything you say on the floor of congress. Not sure if that applies to a stated intention. Expulsion is the correct remedy

I believe Trump just posted then deleted the following tweet:

Unfucking real. He is the scum of the earth. I dont know how anyone in his inner circle actually deals with him on a daily basis. It would be exhausting.

What was the tweet? Guess you saw it before it was deleted.
