Not my problem if their ignorance is catching them out in these moments. The shocking enabling of him is as much if not more to blame than Trump’s own abysmal conduct. He’s not some Lex Luther figure, without people shamefully pandering to him he’d have been as idiotic, but certainly more impotent at immolating things.

People that claim they vote for facscists despite them being fascists and then backpedal when the fascists actually do somthing fascists are fascists. If you accept a fascist for personal political gain over a non fascist, you are a fascist. The only excuse is ignorance. I get that some Americans can claim ignorance. You cannot. You have been debated about the fascism of the Trump movement for 5 years by this forum. You pulled your support too late. And you can't even stop deflecting and blaming the other side when the person you voted for president for has instigated a coup d'etat. Just once, take the blame. You enabled an antidemocratic madmen and it has destabilized your country. You knew what you did, you did not care. x100

![]() one thing's for certain though. Trump will not go down quietly. motherfucker is a nihilistic narcissist, and oh so sure of himself. I hope for him to do something stupid. so we can have actual fireworks, like Rs going after him by throwing the book at him and him martyring himself and taking the base with him.

Seriously, this is like the perfect way to show how disgustingly egregiously different black and brown people are treated by law enforcement in this country. Even when they're not the ones doing anything they're going to catch some blame for it. https://twitter.com/brendanstan1ey/status/1346952051339767809?s=20

If they redo the count I would expect there to be no one contesting the result.

I do think part of the reason why they didn't go full ham is simply because it's the Capitol. You can't fire willy nilly in there, if i'm not mistaken it's a quite historic building (and interior). .. not that i actually think that's the entire reason, that would be the skin colour, but i do think it plays part. I do think though they should've waltzed in there in riot gear and beat the living shit out of every single one of them before actually arresting them, rather than shooing them out of the building like the little rats they are.

Fucking disgusting. Democratic processes are mere abstract ideological constructs, god forbid folks damage some property though... I do think it’s not 100% comparable here, I’ve been in work so haven’t seen actual images to visualise the scene. While not entirely surprising by any means this is day 1 of an emerging situation, not day x of an ongoing series of protests and confrontations. What does seem of undeniable concern is why there were delays in the deployment of additional support, the national guard etc as this situation escalated as it did.

Or they might hold it inside the White House like apparently happened in 1945.
