According to the Democratic National Committee, there will be no live audience for the debate on March 15. www.azfamily.com Reasonable considering Corona. No audience is. Why they have to sit down I don't know tho. I'm sure its because Biden is so weak he can't stand. I assume that is what your trying to fish for? Who cares, and both of em are almost 80, let them sit. You don't elect a President for their thigh muscles.

He could just say "I prefer to sit" instead of pretending it wasn't done for him.

I don't care whether they sit, stand or float around in a bubble bath. I just don't know why it's "reasonable considering Corona". I also wasn't fishing for anything... just wondering about your reasoning, but it was only about the no audience bit, so carry on.

Avoiding large groups of people who may or may not have Corona and not know it makes sense.
In reality, I think the DNC is just trying to hide Biden's state as much as possible and act like the emperor is, in fact, wearing clothes.

Michigan, like many states, has had voter suppression during the Dem primary by way of extended wait times be a problem.
+ Show Spoiler +
Republicans will ignore hollow complaints from Democrats about this in the general.

This seems the most likely, but there's no way he'll make it through the general without it becoming apparent. Trying to squeak it through now is the most shortsighted plan I can think of.
If I were Sanders I'd just stand up 3 minutes in and see if Biden falls over when he tries to do the same.

I'd laugh if they got to choose their own desk and Sanders picked one of those motorized standing desks.

Id feel confident wagering that the debate is as it is to prevent Bernie from shitting on Bidens Republican quality voting record.
It's sad that I feel so comfortable assuming the worst about the DNC, but that's the America I live in.

For what it's worth, the standing, walking, and talking capacity of candidates for president has been the stuff of campaign punditry for hundreds of years at this point lol

Yeah, America is obsessed with having a strong virile leader for some sick reason.
Didn't FDR have to hide his disability pretty thoroughly?

Yes, he also dropped ("slumped" technically) dead from a stroke a couple months into his last term. His declining health had been kept secret.

Maybe the US has some sort of fetish for old less abled people it tries to keep secret but doesn't keep secret very well.
Also I'm listening to an NPR interview with Marianne Williamson and I like what she says.

I mean when every possible nominee is either 80+ or Tulsi Gabbard, it becomes pretty relevant.
This isn't a matter of wanting a strong, virile leader for the tribe. This is about wanting a nominee who can still tie his own shoes by the time he's elected.

I agree, I'm just not sure if that's because our standards have dropped or if they've always been that low.

Biden's pick for VP will be very interesting. What are the odds of that VP eventually becoming president during Biden's first term for whatever reason. Or if Biden is in such bad shape now, the VP pick is like a second campaign for him/her to replace Biden on the ticket. I'm just spitballing here lol

I do wonder if any world leaders will start any kind of Corona virus chains, I kind of doubt any of them would die with the quality of healthcare they'd receive, but it'd surprise me if the Corona virus didn't eventually get there.
