One thing I like is that most law schools teach a class on legal writing, which ensures some level of sanity in their documents. But when I read a legal doc and the lawyer felt the need to use 'know all by these presents' I want to scream. Having taken a legal writing class, I can tell you that in many if not most cases, the writer's habits are already set such that those classes end up being too little, too late for those in most need of skill development. One of my professors said that 90% of the students he sees are terrible writers and there's almost nothing they can do about it, clinical writing profs included.

It's no surprise that the system to study writing is lacking, but to put it in perspective you literally cannot study writing in french. There are like five places total where you can study storytelling, let alone writing.
I think it's in no small part the reason why "writing well" in english means having clarity, and "writing well" in french means wanking yourself because of how many unusual words you know.

You should read some Alain Damasio if you haven't. He """writes well""" =)

So in a surprising yet unsurprising revelation, Sean Hannity gets wrapped up in this entire saga instead of being merely a commentator.
|
That is a plot twist I was 100% not expecting. And given Cohen’s history of paying off women to keep quiet about affairs, I’m sure I can guess what he was doing for Hannity.
|
It must be so frustrating working for Trump. Has it even been 24 hours since Nikki Haley made the announcement?

A FOX sexual harassment settlement seems like a pretty good possibility too.
|
Every FOX male actor has thus far been a part of the sexual harassment culture. And Hannity was on the downest of down low with the worst of the worst (Ailes, O'Rielly, Murdoch). Even with this, I haven't seen anything to see that he participated in the office sport. If Hannity was into less-than-consensual play, I believe something would have come out by now. But that he was a Cohen client raises an enormous smoke cloud over Hannity that puts his locker-room levels of trust with big league FOX harrassers into question.

Maybe I'm missing it, but isn't that the point?

I believe so. Between this and hiring the UN’s favorite, Mr. Bolton, I doubt anyone is taking the US seriously when it comes to foreign relations. I doubt they expect us to take the lead on anything.

Fox News has been blasting their own Twitter feed in the last hour, hoping that the people who follow them are too stupid distracted to notice what's going on in this, the latest shitstorm in the conservative world.
I was fully prepared to see them saying nothing on the subject of Hannity, and calling it an afternoon, but nope. This isn't even the half of it, they're in full blown propaganda distraction mode right now.

Just like CNN and MSNBC does it.
In all seriousness, this should be serious legal-trouble for all of Fox News, imo. You had a guy on national airwaves, feigning impartiality on a story he was directly, legally implicated in. It's... oh, the 21st century Republicans.
Why does this not upset them the most? Hello, the people you listen to are completely lying to you to insane-degrees. Do you care? Why does anyone still actually watch Fox News? You like being insulted? Listen to me instead, I'll insult you, and you'll know it right away.

Probably the Roy Moore defense: Either the evil left is the ones lying -or- it's okay, because the evil left is worse.

The myth of the liberal dominated media is ever green. They have their own network, but conservatives are still convinced they are not represented in media. They dominated engagement on Facebook, per a new NBC report, but congress asks Facebook why conservatives are being targeted on their platform. But the myth is pretty good marketing if you are in the business of turning being a conservative into an identity.
|
This feels like the sort of thing fox has to act on. This is such an enormous conflict of interest that I don't see how they turn a blind eye. This is really bad for Hannity.
|
Bigger question: did Fox pay the legal bills for whatever Cohen dealt with for Hannity?
|
S'all good, man.
No, really, they get their law-degrees from watching Breaking Bad and Goodfellas. I'm dying.
|
So then fox was paying the bill? Even spicier.
|
Sounds like Hannity should have conferred with his lawyer before talking about this. Oh wait, awkward.
