A guy that swears on the bible before his god and his country then willingly, and on his own apparently, decided to break that oath shouldn't be near a congressional hearing. He can make his statements on his own time but giving a proven and admitted oath breaker like that credibility is a mistake. No one should take his comments seriously enough to even listen to them. The bible is a meaningless prop in American politics.

So congress must speak with known liars, because the people who tell the truth cannot work for Trump.

Nothing new or profound came from today’s testimony. It was a monumental waste of time that isn’t going to move the political needle one iota. Democrats got some new impeachment fantasy porn, but that’s about it. Independents aren’t going to give two shits, and Trump’s approval rating is going to remain where it is over the long run.

I love how "Independents aren’t going to give two shits" about this, but the PRO LIFE MOVEMENT over played their hands and are going to feel it.

The idea that people who appear disposed towards dishonesty are the sort of people who should not testify before a tribunal seems absolutely absurd to me.

Cohen can do whatever he wants. But let’s get real. He is as dishonest as people come, bearing an attorney’s wet dream of impeachment material.

Sure, Cohen is a liar. That is why he is going to jail. But everything he said today was with the knowledge that Muller, and probably SDNY know everything. If he lies again, under oath, he is getting a shit ton more than 3 years. I am willing to believe a guy who knows everything is under a microscope to the 10th degree. If Muller or SDNY comes down with more chargers about lying, then I will start to question it.

Why would Cohen perjure himself before congress today? He is in a plea deal, everything he knows is in the hands of some form of investigation be it state or federal. He has been sentenced and is going to jail. Why on earth would he be lying now. What's the angle here and what is he lying about?

It’s a great angle if you want to discredit them. And last time I checked convicted felons can still turn state’s witness. So if it’s good enough for the executive branch in criminal cases, it’s good enough for congress. And of course Cohens attorney wrote his opening statement and told the committee what he was going to say. It’s not like the Republicans couldn’t just ask Cummings about it. They do t because it’s such a good angle of attack. Also, remember that Rudy and Manafort both worked for Trump for free.

But I do know that he did likely lie today about multiple things, which even CNN believes.

Lying may not have been smart in hindsight, but there was some logic too it. Now, there is no longer a logic. The only reason to claim he's likely to be lying now since he was lying before is if you don't like what he's saying. Lying now gets him a book deal, political favors, and revenge against Trump for however he perceives that Trump wronged him.
