I think I'm smart but there's tons of people out there who are smart who make me look stupid. Plus however much natural intelligence I may have I've done zero work to cultivate it. EDIT: The other important thing to note is that smart can be very specific. Very few people can be smart at a large variety of things. | ||

Over all, I agree with you. In fact I dont even believe in some thing could be smart or not smart. I think everyone's actions and decisions are nothing more than mere reactions to the rest of the world. The world make you smart or dumb. You don't make your self smart. | ||

What makes you think people surfing this particular website are ANY different from the average internet user/human. it is true that people who have access to the internet usually have better education/are generally a lot more experienced in various things. but that doesn't automatically make them "smart". see examples given in this thread. not so much just internet access, but look at the attributes of this site in particular. it's kinda like visitors to some advanced math proof site will generally be smart people. obviously not that extreme, but that's an analogy. in this case, it's mostly for people who follow starcraft, which are mostly people who played the game a lot, which correlates with people who have a natural talent for it, i.e. smart people. so there's some self-selection there. of course that doesn't work for everybody, but from what i've seen there seems to be a trend. and there's also other types of selection, i.e. banning, hehe.  but i agree with you about some of the examples given here.
