Apparently 4 policemen were killed during the assault of the Bataclan. The terrorists had explosive belts and triggered them when the police entered.

The problem is not islam at all.

By the way micronesia you warned me but I never argued that muslim are responsible for the situation, I just stated a fact that there is an important muslim population in France. I still love you tho.

how fucking hard is it to live on this planet without killing each others??

Killing unarmed, innocent people for your political goals will only ever put those goals further out of reach and serve to erase yourself from history.

I don't know but it worked pretty damn well for the terrorists. Forced the most powerful country in the world into an perpetual and eternally unwinnable "war" vs. an invisible enemy. Made said country stripping tons of liberties and rights of the very people it's supposed to protect, all in the name of "security". Strike fear, confusion, panic into the heart of millions of Europeans. Sow the seeds of mistrust and between people of faith and non-faith.

Whatever they're trying to do, I think they're pretty much there already.

eh, is it the time and place to argue Islam's position in this right now? I mean it's debated to death and leads to hostility

If by "weak" you mean democratic, then yes, we are weak.

If you don't want to be jailed because you look odd, accept terrorism. And wake up from the fairytail you're living in.

IT is like 3 hours since I came home from tattoo salon with new piece. I sat down infront of my pc and saw this madness. ... after a while I look on my forearm with "atheos" in greek letters and I felt so angry about mankind and its unability to live without this bullshit called religion. ... I am really sad, because I feel like this is just beginning of full out civil war in Europe.

This seems to be a good time to point to moderate Islam to be louder that hate but also boycott Saudi Wahhabism whether it's the Mosque they build or charities they start. And of course Secular education doesn't hurt either.

Several sources have cited that one terrorist was captured and said he was with ISIS, but among the flow of links, I can't find it anymore. It's not unlikely, but it is best to withhold judgement until we know for sure.

I think the French government reacted properly, in any case. The GIGN and the RAID were deployed (they don't fuck around) not to capture, but to kill. Although two terrorists were killed, others committed suicided by activating their bomb belt.

At least 120 dead according to AFP...

And Hollande has stated that France will lead the fight and will show no mercy.
I like words.

We can keep telling ourselves that until we all live in one big, happy caliphate.

In the meanwhile, we're just Chamberlaining around and count ourselves lucky not to be jew, women or gays.

Religion does not comes from nowhere. The problem is the inability of our countries to integrate its people, due to the lack of work, the lack of solidarity and the lack of meaning. That some find solace in the practice of a religion and that a minority within the minority interpret this religion in a violent manner is not the reason but merely the effect of our problems.

Do we know how many attackers there were? I would have guessed at least as many as there were locations attacked, but I don't know the timeline. I hope none escaped.

If everyone got to where Turkey is, I feel like Islam would be a lot better off facing extremists.

They may not be directly causing violence but the majority of muslims in the world support sharia law, which is still a problem.

It's not happening in the world but in France. It is a french problem, not a world issue.
