Well.. Yesno.
I want to say "of course, could be other terrorists" or whatever - but truth to be told, i do think that it's revenge. And ridiculously retarded on top.

In my opinion the discussion of whether or not the threat of terrorism is a price worth paying to help fellow man is a far more important conversation for anyone who is not currently in Paris f5ing to find out if their loved ones are still alive. For the vast majority of us reading the latest speculation of a media industry going crazy is not going to change anything. You could go to sleep now, read about it all in the morning paper and be no worse off. F5ing the death count over and over at a certain point becomes tragedy voyeurism about events you have no control over nor stake in. Is anyone here saving back some sadness so they can be twice as sad if the death count doubles? Personally I'm already at maximum sympathy for the victims.
A discussion of the broader impact, context and importance of this event seems reasonable enough to try. That'll be the lasting legacy of tonight to the people not directly affected.

As far as i know in this case it isn't clear yet, but usually these things tend to be done by people of the nation they blow up. I fully expect it to turn out that the terrorists are french, and not some people who snuck into france through german refugee camps.
I am also ashamed to see terrorists so obviously succeeding in breeding mistrusts and xenophobia in western society. We should be better than this, but it seems that increasingly every time something happens the "all muslims are backwards barbarians" fraction gets louder and louder.
Just some food for thought: Saudia Arabia: population ~30 Millions. Wahhabism, biggest founder of sunni terrorism, currently funding groups in Syria. Sharia is the foundation of the national law. Last year several people were beheaded for witchery and black magic (no joke).
Pakistan: Population 182 Millions. Extremism is basically the official government doctrin. People get away with killing their daughters infront of the court in brought daylight. Waziristan north of Peshawar is Taliban land. The accusation of dishonoring the koran is enough to get a mob to kill you and burn down houses in the local christian area.
Bangladesh: Population 157 Million Had a genocide 50 years ago. They are pushing for sharia law. Killing atheists is a majority position.
Indonesia: Population 250 Million. The extremists already grabbed the province Aceh, sharia is the law there. Government tries to appease the extremists by making more and more concessions. I say this won't work.
Nigeria: 180 Million people. Roughly 50% of muslimic believe. North Nigeria is sharia zone, civil war with 10 000's of deaths.
Sudan: Population 38 Million people, the barbaric sharia is the foundation of the law, muslimic militias ravaged through the north of the country some years ago.
Places like Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Iran come on top of that. The majority of muslims worldwide get socialized in systems where women are third rate citizens and can often get killed without punishment, minorities are constantly harassed or already killed off because of their non muslim believes and where sharia as basis of the law is established.
It is absolutely naive to think that people who enter european borders but were socialized in these systems would just leave their believes behind.
Of course not every muslim is a barbarian, where are many great muslimic people but muslimic extremism is not a fringe position either and it is time for us to face that truth, they won't stop and they won't be appeased, these people are our enemies and our societies (which of course includes decent muslims) should start to react that way.

That is probably really useful considering it will decrease cellphone load quite a bit, which a great asset and a problem in these situations.
