"Today on Crossfire.nu, Fusen has managed to gain access to one of the biggest cheat-making community websites, netcoders.be, and extract solid proof and personal information on hundreds of cheaters.
Yesterday it was reported that netCoders was forced to shutdown its site due to security issues. This was confirmed by Fusen, who declared that he was the mastermind behind downloading nC's databases."

Hahaha I liked this in the article...
In response, netCoders has stated they will consider legal actions against Fusen. "Hi 2 u Fusen, you got a serious problem, u know about Law? If not you will see what it is" is currently in the topic of their IRC channel.
I don't know much about the legality of what he did (I'm not talking morally right/wrong, instead legally), does anyone know?

Awww darn it I was all hyped up expecting to see hundreds of starcraft cheaters getting caught.
Oh well, still great news.

I definitely thought this was about the show Cheaters.

What these anti-cheat coders need to do is create some little "cheater sleeper cells" and just buy these private hacks themselves to reverse engineer and integrate their findings into their latest anti-cheat software. Get a small pool goin on. The cheats retail for $100, get 20-30 people to spare a few bucks, i think they'd easily get that many from admins if not the whole damn league organization itself.

I bet Testie's on that list.

anyway im glad that they have been exposed and hopefully this will teach Fusen to keep quiet about his activities.there may be some legal ramificayions from this. But im not sure and am not a law expert by any stretch of the ole mind.

Actually, this anti-cheat site was banking. The hacker who busted in has made public their cheat buyers database which is their personal list of everyone who purchased one of their cheats. Their cheats sell for $100 each, and they have sold hundreds. I guess it was just a business for them. Nice little supplemental income to say the least.
Another little side tidbit, looking at the cheaters database they have managed to create identifying actual in game player names by doing some extensive auto cross-referencing to ip's and server's and such, a lot of these cheaters all coincidentially have some variant of the name "hax" as part of their name. We've all seen this, some guy jumps into your favorite shooter with a silly name like "i have hax lol!" and he does pretty well, but nothing that immediately looks like computer controlled aim. For the longest time i always felt deep down inside this was some sort of reverse psychological trick, your classic "hiding in plain sight" ploy, such as what kind of cheater advertises his presence? Ah shucks he must not be cheating after all, he just has a sense of humor! Either that, or some sick seeded desire to confess by giving hints as to your true cheating sense. Either way i've always kept my eye on people who "joke around about cheating" and now i think ill forever assume they are, since these lists show many many people subtly give away the fact that theyre cheating.

Heh, check this out, Interview with a cheater. This guy was part of the netcoders cheating ring. But what does he do? He denies cheating on the game most people would be mad about, and instead freely admits to cheating on less popular games because [they are so boring it's the only thing i can make fun out of it]. This guy was an admin for an anti-cheating site. He stood head and shoulders above others accusing people whom he thought were cheating, striving to make the community a better place. And a cheater himself all along. (FYI, im definitely not buying this garbage that he paid money to cheat on an unpopular game he doesnt even like, but that he would never cheat on his favorite game which he plays for competitively).
Sick fucking bastards. It's like i always say, examine someones passions and conclude the opposite about them. Priests, lawmakers, game players. Whenever someone stands out in a crowd, assume the worst, the very very worst.

Two wrongs don't make a right. Dunno how illegal cheating is, but I guess hacking a website and gaining access to user data is a bit more illegal.
