You can use vaped weed to make cookies, and that is actually the only use of vaped weed. Though you are right about it taking more, you already used it and you would have thrown it away anyway so who cares? Make sure you let the butter absorb the THC over the double boiler for like 3-4 hours

HansMoleMan is either trolling or retarded because you can even smoke weed you've already vaped and still get high, (from other cannabinoids like CBD and CBN that aren't vaporized at the same temperature as THC, as well as traces of THC that weren't vaporized in the first vape) edibles work just as well, and get you pretty damn high.
I myself prefer to skip the vaping step and just smoke the weed normally but some people like the feeling of removing any health risks.
Just got my internet hooked back up after a couple months earlier this week and now that i've smoked about a gram, it's time to play some SC2. It's been so long that i have 600 points in the bonus pool and i went down to number 30 in my Diamond division.

My gf got me a vape, and it worked really well, but I stopped using it after a month or so. Nothing personal to vape users at all, vapes work well if you learn how to do it, but part of getting high to me is inhaling smoke and using a lighter. I'm too impatient for the proper setup and maintenance of a vape anyway. I didn't know you could use the remains for good edibles though, maybe I should vape more often even though it feels just plain unsatisfying compared to a big bong rip. Lots of stoners saying it's the way of the future, I guess we'll have to see.

On topic, double boiling is the method I used for many years because 1) it is fool-proof, meaning there is no way to burn the weed (which would lose THC), and 2) you can do it for several hours (I do 3) to guarantee full extraction of your bud.
HOWEVER, I have recently switched to a crock pot, and can say a crock pot on low for 6-8 hours accomplishes the most complete extraction possible, noticeably better than even double boiling (and with significantly lower resource use - just some electricity instead of your precious VESPENE GAS)
