It's to recognize that what we are talking about is a very specific interpretation of a religion by completely sectarian people. Meni kampf has nothing to do with religion. If anything it shows that people can find other reason than an invisible man in the sky to justify their atrocities.
I know plenty of extremely tolerant and nice christians, jews and muslims. Every ideology can turn crazy and monstrous if you really want it to back up your crimes. Millions of people have been killed in the name of marxism, I read Marx, and I can tell you he didn't ask for it. Now you can strongly dislike Marx, but dislike him for what he said, not for what people did in his name. Same goes for religions. All school shootings in USA are not religous in any way, still its about revenge or getting back at somebody for words or another way of non-bullying.
These event have nothing to do with religion and everything to do with some crazy individuals that use religion as an EXCUSE.
