Although this thread does not function under the same strict guidelines as the USPMT, it is still a general practice on TL to provide a source with an explanation on why it is relevant and what purpose it adds to the discussion. Failure to do so will result in a mod action.

A 21-year-old man has killed a woman with a machete and injured two other people before being arrested in the southern German city of Reutlingen.

The man, a Syrian asylum seeker, had been involved in previous incidents causing injuries to other people, a police spokesman said. The motive was not clear but there was no indication that the incident was a terrorist attack.

The assailant was apparently acting alone and “there is no danger to anyone else at this time”, the spokesman said.

Witnesses said the man was having an argument with the woman before he attacked her at about 4.30pm on Sunday.

The spokesman had no immediate information about when the man arrived in Germany, or when the previous incidents took place.

It was the third act of violence against civilians in Germany in 10 days.

Third act of violence, second refugee running rampage - and yet again, known for similar incidents to the police, still roaming free and happy. I'd like to have people explain to me again (happened before) why exactly we shouldn't send people like him back to where they came from, should be interesting.

He also was stopped by a bystander who run him over with his car on purpose.

I wonder how long it will take until ultra nationalist movements start to actually lynch people on the streets. Last time i was on Germany i had to deal with some neo nazi twice, so i could only guess it's going to get worse.

BRUSSELS bureaucrats are set to fine impoverished Greece a million euros every month in revenge for its Government stepping in to save ship builders’ jobs.

Out of touch eurocrats are seeking a court order for a massive financial crackdown on the struggling country, which has been driven into third world poverty by EU policies.
They want to impose a six million euro upfront penalty on Greece’s cash-strapped government, to be followed by a daily levy of 34,974 euros.

The row has erupted because Greek ministers used taxpayers money to save the Hellenic Shipyards company in 2008, guaranteeing the jobs of more than a thousand workers.
The shipyard was one of the country’s biggest and the government provided a temporary rescue package, before selling it on to a German company, in a case echoing Britain’s bid to save the Port Talbot steelworks.

But, despite Greece’s dire economic situation, bureaucrats at the EU Commission decided to take the elected Greek government to court, arguing that the state aid was illegal under Brussels law.
Following a series of cases before the European Court of Justice the Commission is now hammering home the judgements and demanding a massive financial penalty.
Under the terms they are seeking Greece will be required to pay 34,974 euros to Brussels every day until it has recouped all of the 250 million euros it used to bail out Hellenic Shipyards.

The Commission said in a statement: “More than seven years after its adoption, Greece still has not implemented the Commission decision of June 2008, ordering the recovery of over 250 million euros of unlawful state aid to Hellenic Shipyards.”
good thing there are no fines for saving the banks.
could be political and it probably is; Greece must've done something recently to piss them off.

I'm very convinced the parents of the pregnant girl will be calmed by that.

Although, stating the obvious here yet again, if we can't even get rid of criminal refugees, one should've not let them in in the first place. But i guess we'll have warriors and politicians up in arms soon, telling us how this has nothing to do with refugees but lack of integration and other bullshit.

Interesting fact: i thought initially the two injured people were injured because they tried to stop him or something.

Turns out, that's not the case. It was a car driving past him, and he smashed the window with his machete. So it's not too far fetched that he would've killed even more, and the BMW driver who ran him over didn't hit him hard enough since he was only "lightly injured".

I wonder how long it will take until ultra nationalist movements start to actually lynch people on the streets. Last time i was on Germany i had to deal with some neo nazi twice, so i could only guess it's going to get worse.

Well. The trouble is, it's a two edged sword. The government didn't give a shit in the first place, they knew these things were likely to happen, considering that the BKA etc warned them that the police and border controls are dangerously understaffed, to the point where they can't guarantee safety anymore (they actually called it). So they're really not in the position to condemn a possible neighbourhood patrol, or "militias" roaming the streets. To be clear, i think it's a dumb idea, but i do understand everyone who's thoroughly disappointed, to put nicely, by Merkel and her Kindergarden.

edit: which obviously means that i don't understand how someone could look at this now and wonder what WE could do better to prevent violent refugees from going rampage.

Reports are coming in of an explosion in the southern German town of Ansbach.

The explosion has killed one person and injured 11 according to reports.

A spokesman for the Bavarian Interior Ministry said the explosion was not an accident and appears to have been intentional.

Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann was en route to the site, the spokesman said.

I cannot see any other outcome but civil war within the next five years or so.
You cannot integrate those muslims who want Sharia law (And there are many, despite what the leftists say).
If we keep getting multiple attacks per week like we've been seeing recently then the civil war will start sooner.

Right. Who would fight this war? Against who? For what end? What would be the motivation of people to take up arms? How would the side not on the government's side be armed? Would parts of them military defect? Why? Is there any sign for this, anywhere? (Don't bother answering these questions)

Maybe you should come over here for vacation to get some perspective. It's pretty grand here.

I don't need to answer them, France's head of intelligence already did a couple of weeks ago.Germany is a few years behind France in terms of numbers but they are closing in rapidly.

http://metro.co.uk/2016/07/12/we-are-on-the-brink-of-civil-war-warns-french-intelligence-chief-6002362/

France is ‘on the brink of civil war’ that could be started by a mass sex attack similar to assaults in Germany on New Year’s Eve.

The country’s head of intelligence Patrick Calvar issued the warning, explaining that another terrorist attack or sexual assault by migrants could be the trigger.

Mr Calvar, chief of the Directorate General of Internal Security, said fragile relations within France could prompt a right-wing backlash.

He told French newspaper Le Figaro: ‘We are on the brink of civil war.
‘This confrontation I think it will take place.

Yes and he was proved wrong ; a few terrorist attack after and no actual lynching or mobbind except a few mosque burning here and there (actually less than catholic church funnily enough). It's a huge minority fighting the majority : It's not a war just some policing.

It's rather disingenuous to say "Germany is a few years behind France" as if it was the same history, just a few years apart. France's situation is unique due to its extensive colonial history and how decolonization happened (or didn't happen). I think a lot of what is happening in France right now has to do with belated decolonial violence.

By civil war he meant intra-state conflict I think (in which the conflict would not articulate in regards to the government, but towards a group of people). That being said, I’ll try to answer the questions asked above.

Q : Who would fight this war? A : German citizens (but technically, it would not be a ‘war’).
Q : Against who? A : A certain group of people who despises the basic social values of your society, causing major disturbances.
Q : For what end? A : Stopping them from shooting, attacking or bombing german citizens.
Q : What would be the motivation of people to take up arms? A : Same answer as above.
Q : How would the side not on the government's side be armed? A : None of the parties in conflict desire to overthrow the government, state coercion is not the determining factor here (it’s nothing like the american civil war ^^).
Q : Would parts of them military defect? Why? A : Same logic as above.
Q : Is there any sign for this, anywhere? A : That’s your most relevant question imo. I think this idea of social disorder will progess significantly only if what happend this week in Bavaria persists (on a weekly/monthly basis). Then the signs may appear evidential.

War > conflict > being angry ;P

In which a conflict can result in harmful actions (you may be angry at your sister, but you would never ever hurt her).

Or someone who speaks english and knows what perpetrator means, plus being too lazy to constantly type it out. Watch less movies.

PS: perp/perpetrator literally is the translation of "Verursacher"/"Täter". You're welcome.

It's to be expected that some nutjobs will do "revenge killing" of Muslims or foreigners in general. That's the nature of nutjobs, they just need an excuse to get violent. That makes them pretty much as bad as any Terrorist.

Civil War or anything even remotely close to that... Hell, no.
