Which would clearly be the motive here. So it's the correct designation.

No holds barred. well when you're screaming Allah Ahkbar(god is great) w/ every terror act, it's not exactly helping the image of the religion. Granted if you're muslim, you'd know that it's a common saying, but it IS kind of sticking it to the people that are killed.

No holds barred. this gets tossed about a bit but i cant ever seem to think of instances where this happened. can you? i agree this might stretch the definition of terror a bit, since i think you really need to be a part of an organization to be a terrorist, or at least have to done (or planned to do) several types of attacks with the intended goal of terrorizing a population to achieve a poltical agenda. otherwise youre a crazy dude who tried to kill people On May 23 2013 03:30 CuddlyCuteKitten wrote: An act of terror is a crime motivated by a desire to instill fear into people. I'm not sure what defines a terrorist attack anymore. If I brutally stab a single person and shout Jesus is great - that would not be called a terror attack, I'd rather be labeled a crazy extremist most likely targeting one individual for personal reasons.

"terror attack" is a really broad stroke, although this attack seems designed to "instill fear" which meets that requirement. I think the connotation is just miscronstrued because the assumed imagery of a terror attack is something large scale? just an interesting unfolding of the term. edit for spelling

The Brits won't lower their entire society just to grasp at some notion of justice. Not that I am by any means suggesting that our public view of justice is in any way superior, but I could easily see these men being taken down by random passerby almost immediately. From what I understand random passerby in England aren't as well armed as the random passerby in the States.
