Do tell, what sort of ground breaking information do you have access to that reveals this North Korean puppet act? How dare you demand evidence?! INSOLENCE!!
So where is evidence of nuclear weapons? Some people saying so? Like Iraq weapons of mass destruction? We all know that was true right? You know better then to believe everything you hear on TV.At least have some reservation on what media says. Cmon really?

Sorry cant tell you its classified On a serious note, this is just my opinion which i formed from my history studies (i have a history degree).Knowing history is not just dates and events, its having awareness of what is behind those events. Oh god... history degree = prereq for conspiracy theorist 101? Apparently so.

They have done 3 nuclear tests, we dont know how capable the missles if they have any are, but they do have nuclear material they could at least make a dirty bomb.

I have nothing against your views and I didn't say anything about any of those things you're asking about. I'm open minded to literally any possibility you can think of, but reasonably critical as well.
I was just making a joke. I don't look down on conspiracy theorists like most people do. Fact is many conspiracies have occurred throughout history and it's the unsubstantiated, way out there conspiracy theories like reptilians that give the term a negative connotation.

The thing with nuclear weapons is that it is hardly analogous to an ace in poker. Nuclear weapons in so many ways, signal a nation to be a world power. It is a deterrent to armed invasion and a powerful indicator of advanced industry and technology. It is a credible threat in the hands of any nation and it can buy favor with other rogue regimes or groups that seek nuclear secrets.
Nuclear weapons aren't the ace in the hole to winning a war- they are a tool in negotiations and foreign relations.

China should invade North Korea and liberate it's people. Seriously.

trailer... another trailer... yet another trailer... ... then no actual movie comes out.
That's how I feel about this situation. Too many empty "coming soon." Pyollywood is only good for trailers.

Not quite sure how the world's largest economy/military still wouldn't be a clear superpower...
Anyway, obviously all this bluster coincides with lil' Kim stepping into his father's shoes, which is interesting, because aren't the leaders of SK and China new as well? These people might all feel like they have something to prove.

This. Even without nukes U.S. would still be hands down the hegemonic power... I doubt it would affect it's negotiating abilities significantly either.

Whoever banned this guy has a "looser grip on reality". First of all, falling into conspiracy theory is extremely easy when you don't really research stuff. 2nd of all, he kinda made sense in what he said. He gave a legit example and stated something obvious like TV lies most of the time ( or at least overstates, and generally tends to sensationalize news ).
If he is a conspiracy nut, the other dude is a complete square.
As for me, I thought about this. This sounds extremely retarded....Really NK ? Really ? It might as well be a hoax from my point of view since I can't even bother to actually research this issue, the world has become way to weird lately. Kind of like a really bad satire. Anyways.....
Let the ban hammer fall again!

Would probably be a good thing in a long term perspective, but it wont happen. NK have a huge army, nuclear weapons and very little else of value. Thus is the risk/reward ratio of invading NK high enough to prevent any nation from touching them.
The chance for anything to happen within is also very low. NK have isolated and brainwashed their own population. Combine this with a control mechanism of their own population that rivals that of GDR and we have a very limited chance of change. Not to mention that the punishment for opposition towards the state in NK makes death penalty look nice.
To put it short is NK perfectly adapted to crush any opposition within and they have enough military power to prevent anyone from interfering in their "alice in wonderland" society.
The only likely way that anything happens if is NK is stupid enough to attack SK. It is possible that they would manage to kill a lot of people but there is no way that NK comes out on top, or even survives as nation. NK might be retarded but I think even they realize this, thus they wont deliberately attack SK. Although rising the bar to this level might cause things to spiral out of control by accident, WW1 style.
Most likely is all this bantering only NKs way of demonstrating to their own population what a powerful nation they are. They will go back soon to run their fairy tale land for a couple of decades more.

Maybe north korea really is crazy :/, and speaking of ww1 we are soon to be at the centenary of ww1. As for china invading north korea, that is a completely stupid idea in the perspective of the current chinese government. Get rid of a useful buffer state and spread ideas of liberation to its own people, that is not going to help the regime in charge, not to mention the heavy loss of life and diplomatic fall out that will result.

I hope people in this thread realize the best possible scenario for the "west" is that nothing happens. The vast majority of SK and US want nothing to do with the aftermath of NK. Sk does not want refugees to devalue their economy.

Did I miss any?
It took three weeks from NK ending the cease-fire with SK to them being at a state of war. If that's the time things take in NK, we should just invade in a surprise blietzkrieg. By the time we're done and have gone home again, NK troops should be on standby to execute the plan to get ready for the command to immediately respond to the final order to return fire against the invading forces and erase SK, Japan and US from the world in righteous fire.
Speaking of NATO, if NK declares war direclty on the US and not just SK, are all the other NATO members bound by treaty to declare war on NK? NK has declared war on SK a couple of times already the last month. What happens if they step up and declare war on US as well?

Probably, but it doesnt mean much. Britain and France have been attacked before without US helping them all be it away from their mainlands but North Korea isn't going to be able to hit the US mainland, also theres the thing of other NATO members having nothing meaningful to contribute anyway.

I'll be honest... I'm not sure what the difference is between officially declaring war on a country and just saying "we are going to nuke and dissolve you"...
