I often wonder after a run how good it was in the grand scheme of things. I checked the speedrunarchives website, and i'm sure it's hidden somewhere there, but i can't find it. Anyone can help me out? ![]() there's a site that's in the work associated with speedrunslive that will try to get all the records together, hopefully sometime this year. There's also Congratsio on twitter for updates, and The Sunday Sequence Break's link database ( http://kb.speeddemosarchive.com/TSSB ) for weekly records for about the last year. A lot of this is just evolving as speedrunning becomes a big thing, as it's grown hugely in the last few years. Otherwise methods were a bit complicated, involving searching stuff like the SDA forums, then checking nico for japanese players and such. It's not too likely records will be set in the marathon, though it's not out of the question, as marathon runs tend to plan for worst-case luck since it's a single attempt, so there are more safe strats that are a bit slower in many casts. Donation incentives for a game also add time in many cases. Entertainment is the big thing here, and it certainly has done that so far =D

Only runs i find that fast are segmented (which is still impressive, but allows for a ton of attempts at a small section in order to get things as close to perfect as you can). Single-segment record, as far as i can tell, is 28:55. Lots of glitches in the game that are very precise and/or require a bit of luck to hit, so getting much closer to a segmented time would require a lot of luck and a lot of attempts. That's not to say it's not improvable, and there are people working on it, just throwing the distinctions out there.

I don't think anything else can top that, but GL and PROPS to anyone who can! as the poster above me stated, A LOT of the posted runs on youtube etc are segmented. Which basically allows you to grind those segments over and over for good RNG, something that is wayyyy harder to do in a single segment run. These days single segment runs are king ![]()
