Can someone please clarify this point:
"The infringement is for non-standard essential patents, whoch means that Google filed a case for a patent/patents that courts cannot legally force companies to patent, meaning that if they win this case, Apple could be forced to completely stop using the patent in their devices."
I don't know anything about law so it doesn't make much sense to me.

As an app developer and getting paid by both Apple and Google, I feel like I am in the lose/lose situation here. If Google destroys apple then there goes my lifestyle of having only to work 2 hours a week while making 15k a month will be gone... and vice versa.
I don't want to work again..
I simply need them both to co-operate. Its a sad day for me, but given that Apple gives me 3 times more revenue than what Google pays me, Im going to side with Apple on this one due to the fact that they just give me more money....

People get made redundant all the time. And anyway, whoever loses will almost certainly not close their app marketplaces or anything like that. This is a war being waged "for the consumer." App developers need not worry.

Also, it's worth pointing out it's not Google suing Apple, it's Google suing Apple by proxy in the form of Motorola.

Well I don't think I will make myself redundant (I'm my own boss lol).

So now Google is suing Apple? All these smart phone wars are getting a bit ridiculous but hey, money makes the world go round.

Well, assuming the worst and Apple gets trashed...wouldn't a lot of the people move to Android eventually anyway? From there they'd be like "This app is on Android too? Awesome, something I'm familar with!" and then REbuy your product?
To be fair, idk what I'm talking about too much. I'm not much of a smartphone guy.

Yes, it brings Apple closer to falling out of business. Awesome. Always liked Google, always disliked Apple. It seems to be pretty common here or on any forum that has tech savvy people on it too. Wonder why. I don't dislike Apple. Sorry.

Basically, what it means to the situation is this: It's a technology/design aspect that makes a cell phone a cell phone. I'm not sure if what exact patent it is is out yet, but an example of it would be something like a cell phone antenna. Without one, you don't have a cell phone.

A pretty funny cluster fuck they got themselves into there lol
