Absolutely love the ad, no interest whatsoever in the product (or any smartphone that expensive).

1440p screen Snapdragon 821 Android 7.1 And some more niche "nice-to-haves" that might be kinda cool possibly: Best camera NA Google Assistant No manufacturer skins/launchers The biggest downside is obviously the price. I ordered the 32GB XL with device protection and a basic case and it came to $969.91. I'm upgrading from a Nexus 5 which is like 3 full generations. Are there any competitive devices? I can always cancel my preorder if you suggest anything obviously superior.

Do tablets generally don't have a SIM card slots? At least the Pixel and Samsung ones don't seem to. Not going for Windows, no. Don't want to spend much over $500.

Here is a link ^ that you can check out and do a quick search. SIM card slots or SD? SIM cards not so much. Some offer an LTE/WiFi option on their tablets, but they charge more. Use that and see what catches your eye.

Just not sure what the best way to get my photos from camera on the tablet would be. No build in card reader so I guess I would have to buy an external one? And that then would have to have a USB-C plug? Plus can't use any OTG devices between phone (microUSB) and tablet (USB-C)? Sigh ....

Really like the Google C though and I have been super happy with my Nexus 5 so tending to go to Google branded devices over third party. Yeah, I bought a external adapter for the camera SD card for an iPad from BestBuy, I imagine it'll be the same for an android. What you can do is use cloud storage for all your photos, so whenever you have data on your tablet, you'll be able to view all the photos, that's one simple alternative. But yeah, it's one of those things, supposedly they don't like using SD cards, since people start saving their stuff to it, and it turns out that they are slower than the tablet hardware, and then people unjustly complain - idk if that's their bullshit excuse or real.

Gopro I can use the Gopro app and wireless but the Canon will be awkward. Especially since the whole idea of a tablet was to not having to carry around a laptop. If I now have to buy all these external devices that goes a bit against the idea of traveling light. Sigh... Because of this, we went with an Ultrabook instead of a tablet.

For travel I use: Sony a6000 + 16-70 F4 phone battery pack usb cable usb sd reader (for backing up raws since I can use wifi for jpeg) The camera can charge via usb so I don't need to bring a battery charger. Even if you add in GoPro/accessories, it wouldn't weigh that much and easily fits in a day bag. Haven't tried video editing so I can't help you much there.

Wtf, why do you have such big bezzels and not front facing stereo speakers?) At that price, i expect no compromises, even if the feature is a gimmick, i want it because im paying premium You can find phones with pretty much the same specs bar pure android for FAR less money, and hey, some of those even have wireless charging and OIS. Oh, and by the way, according to google, only 2 years of android support.
