If you want a small phone, i would still say the Moto X 2013, super cheap right now, and while it doesnt have the Nasa specs of newer phones the optimizations done by Motorola and pure android makes it unbelievable smooth and fast
Not to mention you would get updates waaaay faster than other companies (its confirmed to be updated with Android L, and considering Motorola is also updating the E and G i would not be surprised if they update it, X2013, to the one after L)
Yes, im a Motorola fan but im a bigger pure android fan :p

That's a shame, because the only thing that's worse than iOS software is Android hardware. 1. You can't install adblock in the Play store, same with the App store. 2. Whatsapp never supported tablets 3. You can either download the PDF file through the web, store it in a cloud service, or transfer it via itunes to Adobe reader or the PDF app of your choice. 4. You can do that on a android device? If so tell me how to do it. 1. Root 2. Root 3. ------ 4. Root Nice, void the warranty on day 1.

Prices being relatively equal now, between HTC One M7 (Google Play Edition) vs. New Moto X (2014; 2nd generation)
Which would you guys choose has a stronger battery life ; camera ; overall better phone?

You don't even need root for any of these actually. All you need to do is to allow installation of third party apps for 1. Others are all supported by default.

Which would you guys choose has a stronger battery life ; camera ; overall better phone? X2014 its a much better phone overall, better camera (even thou its still not amazing), good battery life, stock android, much better specs
But the most important thing: updates, the X its confirmed to have Android L (and should be the fastest non-nexud device to get it) and im 100% sure it will get the next version too (Motorola is even updating the 1st gen Moto G)
On the other side, the M7 GPE isnt even confirmed to have L, only the Normal M7.

Okay. What about 2014 moto X vs. Nexus 5? Interface almost the same? Battery life? Camera?

I really need large storage for music, and front facing speakers would be neat-o, I'm not quite sure what to get. L looks pretty, but the Nexus 6 is far too large for me.
Does anything come close to the Xperia Z3 compact?
Yeah, I'd get the Z3C. My choice came down to the Z3C and the Moto X 2014 and decided to just get the Moto X because I realized the difference in size didn't matter that much to me... and I was willing to sacrifice the battery life for the pure android.

I'm wondering the same thing.

The Moto X is still the better phone imo, i would say is the Nexus 5 2.0, AMOLED (vs LCD, not so great viewing angles), Better camera (again, still not the best, but better than the N5, 13mp vs 8mp), Both have pure android but the extra stuff from the X are so worth it (touchless control are superb), slightly better CPU (nothing to write home about it, 800vs801 are pretty much the same) and better battery life
like i said, the Moto X 2014 is the Nexus 5 2.0, its better all around and it has a few additions that are superb
The N5 should get faster updates thou, but Motorola has been super fast with them too... you can aso find the X 2014 on carriers which should make the investment easier on the wallet

Thanks. In the end, I chose to go with Nexus 5 over Moto X because interface is SUPER important for me, and although Moto X is very stock android-ish, it's not completely there in terms of visuals of the apps. The Nexus 5 apps have 'slightly' more transparent apps and that is the deal-breaker for me. I know it sounds stupid, but these 2 phones are pretty much similar in everything else for me.

Good choice, They are ! and if you ask me is either the Nexus 5 or the X 2014, pure android ftw
not to mention its cheaper if you are going to buy it off contract which its amazing, sadly the only way i can get one here would be by importing and at that point it cost the same as the X 2014

My god, the Nexus 9 looks so neat... If only it were a bit more reasonably priced.

Unfortunately, I ran into the Galaxy S3 sudden death issue, where the NAND got corrupted. I was unable to flash it back to stock. Samsung also rejected my warranty request. $650 down the drain.

One more thing, no one actually answered how do you listen to youtube while on another app.

I submit that Google did a great job on the Nexus 4 phone, although I use a different phone. My dad uses it & says it is great. The Nexus 7 tablet is nice too, my dad Bob has one.

Don't think you can. This feature was rumored to be added a year ago but not sure what happened to it.

To be fair, SixString only complained he couldn't reply to a text while watching a video on YT without pausing. On my phone, I activated popup notifications, so when I receive a text, a popup appears and I can reply within the popup, and nothing is interrupted. Fully using an other app while using YT? Idk, get a regular music player I guess.
