It's sick, but you can't really apply your or mine perspective on what's right or wrong when it comes to people like this. Hell, might as well throw any understanding of common sense out of the window.

Listening to the police radio, I'm really impressed by how calm and professional the police seem to be. This has got to be way beyond anything they've had to deal with before, and they sound really organized and together.

Fuck, my parents live in Aurora. I was this close to calling them up at 3 in the morning, but then I realized they're in their mid fifties, don't watch Batman, and more than likely wouldn't be at a midnight premiere of anything, especially since they work tomorrow.

I'm genuinely confused why people seem surprised that this happened. The question isn't if, the questions are when, where and how.

Big enough population + problems on many scales + access to materials = someone will snap and use all means possible to do something horrible.

Edit: The post above shows probably the only possible real solution to this. Tighter security and hitting someone back aren't working.
