"LoL is to DotA as Starcraft II is to BW"
to me, these sort of statements feel like they're to fill the void that's left from somebody's hate for the game, or the hate for the people that play the game.
i'm no sports fan any longer, but i've heard some pretty awful horror stories about how fans act over teams in the same sports league. when our local hockey team loses in the stanley cup, people go full-on vicious.
a sport is a sport... it was created at some point because there was some interest for it, the fact that the culture and rules and preserved to this day is a gift really. "Dont hate the game, hate the player.".... no lol don't hate the sport, hate yourselves for being bad-sports
if you wanna be a game hipster, go singleplayer or fund your own game. people just play what they have an interest in and enjoy, there's no need for all the extra griefing/flaming.

This thread has pretty much turned into insulting people with different political opinions and different tastes in entertainment. That's not really unexpected since there's only so much humor that can be taken from reading statements that are just dumb for no reason. I don't really have a problem with this however so I'll join in. "I'm good at call of duty"

I don't get the first two, but OMFG how I fucking hate the third one People with shit opinions that are completely baseless think they are entitled to say such a thing to someone whohas a much more sustainable and knowledgable opinion.

"YOLO", especially when it's coming from someone sitting in front of their computer like I am, which it almost always is.
"U mad bro" and "trolling", especially when someone says they're "just trolling" as an excuse after they're made to look like an idiot. If you're a troll and don't care what people think, then it doesn't make sense to tell us you're a "troll". I really think it's a meaningless word, made by idiots, for idiots, to make themselves feel better.
"Guns don't kill people". We all know guns aren't sentient robot-beings with their own free-will, if that's the point. But it doesn't mean they aren't a violent menace to society, and it certainly doesn't mean they aren't capable of killing people, even without human intentions (they're called "gun accidents"). It isn't just piss-poor semantics, it's a completely absurd and intellectually-corrupt statement. If I was Tyrant Supreme Ruler of the World, I would make a law decreeing that all weapon owners must appreciate and acknowledge the function behind their weapons' design. If you can't do that, or outright deny the function of weaponry by saying something so blatantly false as "Guns don't kill people", then your name gets put on a list and my World-Government goons come and take your guns by force, using their superior numbers and weaponry. If you resist, then semantic-mangling statements about the lethality of weapons will be put to the test in a very real way.
"ROFL". No, you're not. You're typing, sitting, and probably aren't even laughing much.

My roomate came up with a good one, Preparation is for the unprepared. Despite the fact it dose make sense, the context in which he used it was just awful.

When I worked at Earls a server came up to the kitchen window and asked us with all sincerity "What is the difference between the 8" and 12" pizzas?"
