Also, I've been drinking a lot of box wine recently. I like to pour it into a can then drink it from there. For whatever reason, I think it tastes better out of a can.

When drinking games I've got it done to a Tee, some sort of easy drinking, WKD or smirnoff ice, anything that tastes good and has a low percentage(dont hate, i hate having to drink vast quantities of drinks that taste disgusting), then usually pear or apple cider for a break, then vodka and coke to get drunk. If im trying to make up time and get drunk much faster I will just mix all the alcohol available from everyone, which is usually 2 - 3 things with 35+ percentage, usually there are a few whiskys and different types of vodka going. I mix them all up and just smashed.

I knew stone wasn't much for subtlety (their most popular beer is called "arrogant bastard," which also comes in an oaked variety), but now I know they at least have a sense of complexity. This is a pretty respectable porter. It's a bit thin as porters go, but the mild smokey flavor and extremely dark malts make up for it. It's worth a try, if you can get a decent price.

I mostly drink Wild Turkey, either 101 proof or Rare Breed (my favourite drink). I used to drink a variety of things, mostly spirits still, but nowadays I don't drink that much so when I do I like it to be awesome. Currently got a bottle of Rare Breed and WT 101 in the freezer (yeah, I keep my bourbon in the freezer), taking one to a party tomorrow and having a party next weekend to drink the other

. Going to be delicious.

Have you tried the Wild Turkey Rye? I like bourbon a lot, but regular wild turkey 101 turns my stomach. Their Rye Whiskey (which is also 101) is really well balanced. It's actually a little sweet for a Rye, but it's worth a try.

After reading this thread, adding:
Triple Sec (limoncello wan't exactly my thing, and this is cheap)
Double Bastard Ale (well recommended in here)
Rochefort 10 (well recommended in here)
Kilkenny (because red)
Mead (because vikings)

Note: I don't really like beer, but I've only had Guiness, Budweiser and Schaffer. Anyone have any suggestions? Relatively new to this.

This may be pretty noob, but I bought a 5L mini keg of Heineken a couple days ago. Gooooooood stuff.

Hate it out of the bottle, love it out of the can, love it even more out of the keg.

I also just decided to hunt through this thread for any interesting looking beers. I'm a newbie when it comes to beer (only had a handful of different kinds as I just recently started drinking a year or so ago) but I'm always game to try a new one if it's handy.

First of all: I'm sorry for all you who live in a country where alcohol is supidly expensive.

Back to topic,
I personally really like Veltins, Beck's, Heineken and all kinds of Ale, wheat beer is cool aswell, but it kinda makes you feel pretty stuffed after 1 or 2. What people may not know is, that in Germany have sum really bad (or some may even call it disgusting :D) beers (Oettinger for example :S).
If I go party gimme Vodka (only 40% not that cheap crap with 37% n' stuff) or Jaegermeister.

I just moved to Oregon and theres so many microbrews here at safeways they have about 40 different microbrews on the shelves but then I see people still getting cases of bud lights it makes me sad. You cant buy vodka or rum at safeway here though which sucks. My favorite has to be a hefeweizen made by firestation 5.

Normally I like scotch (big ups to the highland park guy on this page), but ive been trying some summer cocktails. Ill share my favorites:

Gimlet

1/4 oz Lime juice (fresh squeezed, duh)
1/2 oz Roses Lime Cordial
2 oz Gin (hendricks is good)

Shake over ice, strain into chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with lime slice.

Pimms Cup:

1 Lemon slice
1 English cucumber
1 strawberry (halfed)
1 sprig of mint
1 sprig of rosemary
1 sprig of thyme
1 pinch sugar
1 oz pimms
1/2 oz lemon juice

Fill a collins glass with ice and 3 cucumber slices, the lemon slice, and strawberry halfs. Muddle sugar, pimms, lemon juice, and 3 cucumber slices: strain into collins glass. Top with lemon soda and garnish with rosemary, thyme, mint and a cucumber spear.

It takes a bit of work but fuck is this ever a tasty beverage. Oh and it goes without saying you should only use the best fresh ingredients you can find

imo the taste of dr pepper goes sooo much better with rum than coke ever will it almost tastes like just pure dr pepper which can lead to some.....over indulgence

Oh I like a Mojito too!

Mojito

1/2 oz lime juice
2 tbsp sugar
1 oz white rum
3 fresh mint leaves
Soda water to top up

Muddle sugar, mint and lime juice in a collins glass (or a hurricane glass imho). Add rum, stir, fill glass with ice, then top up with club soda. Garnish with a lime slice and a sprig of mint. Minty and delicious.
