May Obama finally fix the economy for you guys, and hopefully in a chain reaction - the rest of the world. Well voted ![]() We tried to do it under Clinton every other year but failed miserably in every country we went to.

With the political situation practically the same it was in Summer 2011, do you think there will be a solution for the budget? How will it likely look like? No fiscal cliff imo. -There is nothing to win for the republicans doing this, contrary to last year where they could have had the hope to ruin obamas presidency and take the next election, and even last year they didnt push through in the end.The republicans would do best staying low profile for now, while rethinking their position in american society. -The usa guaranteed at the g20 summit that they would solve the fiscal cliff. -There is to much to win by solving the cliff, the usa economy is just turning upwards and it would be incredibly stupid to ruin this change of a full recovery. -It will look verry simple, they will raise the debt ceiling once more. The media did a nice job, delaying the obvious as much as possible lol.

Also thanks to all for not letting Romney become president! looks like peoples status's on my facepook last night.

No need to be bitter about everything. Its pretty obvious from the bush years that reps have been getting a really bad rep around the world. Not to mention how wildly liberal all the other developed nations in the world are tilted. I would have a large problem with someone voting based on what other people in the world think of american politics but everyone is entilited to their opinions even us big bad republicans ![]()

I really, really hate pundits and this whole punditry thing that's cropped up in the last decade or so. Having random people on the news talk about their ridiculous beliefs and opinions without any kind of evidence was a terrible trend. Then along comes a dude with an evidence based method, pundits hate on it, and BAM. Pundits lose hard. That's been satisfying to watch.

Then along comes a dude with an evidence based method, pundits hate on it, and BAM. Pundits lose hard. That's been satisfying to watch. Oh indeed. There was some ridiculous mud-slinging going Silver's way that was partly out of ignorance (it appears that way too many have no idea how polling and statistics work), but partly because... well, some people's jobs depend on them being able to spew out speculation unchallenged, and when Silver says, "actually, it's really not that sensational" and potentially takes away the horse race narrative (and hence a reason to keep watching these pundits), they lash out with all they got, which was, thankfully, pretty damn weak.

It can expect the administration to move forward with the Surveillance State. It can expect the administration to move forward with the perpetual War on Terror (which Obama does not call the War on Terror so he can appear different from Bush). It can expect the administration to move forward with policies of US empire.

There is a huge change in how americas foreign policy is seen under obama compared to bush and how the republicans in generell see foreign politics. Romney showed during the campaign that he understands world-politics as a 3rd-grade schoolyard, where you have to be the crazy bully to keep control. "Getting tough on china", "russia is our numbre one enemy" and all this strong leadership talk... c'mon foreign policy is not a hollywood movie. I remember when Bush spreat anger against france and germany because they didn't want to join the war in iraq because they knew that the "evidence" of the WMD was fake. Obama understands that foreign policy is a complex matter where every country has its own interessts and goals. Obama acts clever for his own country but still be is reliable for his allies and that is alot more important than any "strong leadership" talk the republicans are showing.

Horribly presumptive post. So if Romney won Americans would have no humanity and common sense? Fuck off.

That, and avoiding a president from an anti science, anti intellectual, faith over reason base of evangelical lunatics. (You know, the ones that have taken over the republican party in the last decade+ and are now getting the tinfoil hats out, because President Satan Mc Blacky will not only ruin the economy but also come and take away their guns/bibles.) Sorry, but the w/rest of the world is kinda big on basing decisions on Science and Reason and would like the "leader of the free world" to share those values. Thus the celebrating. No offense to people wearing magic underwear of course, to each his own.
