If she didnt show a distinct lack of knowledge about national policy than it would have won him the election. She was a popular energetic conservative female govenor who was pretty well in touch with needs of her state. It basically was perfect pick on paper.

In the real American system, that we had back durring the time of our founding fathers, there was no concession speech. We bitched at the victor and warned the people that their policies would doom the country forever.

msnbc says 78% in, 102mil total votes so far iirc there are around 210 million eligible votes giving 62-63% voter turnout, which is about the same as last year

Some of their reasoning is bizarre too. "Tens of millions of people are going to be disappointed with these results." No duh. Even if a candidate won by 10% tens of millions would be disappointed.
