I think Romney is fundamnetally moderate but I was a bit scared the far right would get their hands on fiscal policy.

While I don't agree with his opinion, the people jumping on his posts are the same people that wanted romney to win. Don't they understand that Romney is against gay marriages? If you really wanted romney to win you should probably be agreeing with that guy. There is a difference in being against gay marriage and straight up hating gays, though they can overlap.

The Romney supporters on team liquid are more libertarian than conservative, or more tolerant on social issues at least. Just because people support a candidate doesn't mean they support everything he does, like a lot of Obama supporters here and elsewhere.

I also find it amusing how everyone is looking at this as a huge win for Obama, when < 1% in a couple states and in the popular would have flipped the outcome. If anything, this election doesn't say people support Obama or Romney, but rather that we are still a very split country.

Some people believe that progress in social issues will come no matter what, and that it may be safer to vote for a candidate whose economic plan they agree with more. etc. etc.

There are plenty of people that voted for Romney for other reasons, that would still fully support equal rights for everyone to marry.

You had those national polls over the past week showing a Romney lead, but it didn't quite make it to the states that matter. But there are still a lot of uncounted votes still. It will be close though.

Romney's problem is not that he is moderate or not (he is). It's that his birth state, the state he was governor in, and two other states he have homes in would not vote for him. That pretty much tells you all you need to know about him.
