So basically what the media is reportintg is educated guessing at best, and really won't say much till later on tonight, like 2 in the morning when its 100%. And then there will be recounts. Don't worry this will take until the weekend to sort out at the soonest. No, it's far better than an educated best - it's a near statistical affirmation of a result. It's very rare that once a news agency "calls" a state, that it will be reversed. I don't think I've ever seen it happen It recall it happening like 8 years ago... was it Florida? Some stations called a state, and then had to reverse it and it was considered a fairly big deal. Okay, well Bush vs. Gore...fine. But it's very very rare. I seem to remember it happening during the 2010 election it happened too, although I forget which state. It's rare enough that it is most likely that there will not be one at all in a given election, but it does happen. also 8 years ago was bush vs kerry.

If this was a state that was supposed to go to Obama, that would be enough to call, but this is a battleground state. The turnout in the current vote wasn't enough to push it to romney. It's lots of statistics and for the most part, they are usually correct.

They also exit polls, interviews, and the like.

IIRC its a sliding scale, the higher the degree the more democrat. I'm pretty sure there's a pretty strong positive correlation between intelligence and being liberal. Googling "correlation between intelligence and liberal" gave me some interesting stuff. Ya, we discussed this months ago but the democratic brain is inherently different from the republican brain. Republicans have more brain matter in the area that controls emotion and fear while libs have more brain matter in areas that control problem solving and decision making.

I don't recall a state being called wrong in 2004? Maybe, can't recall. EDIT: Suffice it to say, these things are caught fast enough that it isn't a "guess," it's a misprojection.

Hmm and I wonder if you consider yourself a liberal? I'd be interested if you could find a reputable source for this, because this just sounds like bias and an attempt to validate your own opinions
